Tough Choice Ahead. Red Vs Blue
Alright guys, Over the past week I have been pretty upset about what happened with my car being delivered and stuff. I will retell story anyways... On August 3rd I beleive I ordered my 2006 Arrival Blue Metallic SS S/C and I was the happiest person on earth.. So the dealership calls me about a week ago saying that they have stopped making the SS S/C in that color. So im like oh crap, well Ill just take the laser blue then ( which is the new blue) And hes like well okay, But we cant order that untill Mid-Late october and it would be in around April.. So im just like oh shittt now I have been looking at other colors and cars that I could get, after alot of looking I really decided I like the Victory Red alot, I figured its a classic sports car color, and it usualy always looks good. So now I have a tough decision to make.. Victory Red or Laser Blue .. Could anyone please post pictures of the two interior or exterior side by side or just any comments please.. Thanks!!
Personally I don't like either. The laser blue looks like crap and I'm just not a fan of bright red on cars. Like others before me have said, look into other colors. If you can find one sitting around in arrival blue, then that's whole nother story, but otherwise I'd consider other colors.
If those two were my ONLY color choices, go with red.

I'm new to this forum, but had the same problem. I'm just graduating with a Bachelor degree this winter, so I need a new car (mostly because my current one breaks down way too often). I wanted an Arrival Blue SS-SC, but I missed it by a week. I think I'm going to get a laser blue one instead. I saw a Malibu Maxx with it and it looked wierd in person, but it was a rather overcast day. It looked like a dark blue, and turned sort of violet depending on how the light shone on it. I have since looked up some pics of it on the net, and I think it looks OK on the Equinox. It changes shades depending on how the light hits it. I'll try put some pics up of the colour to show what it's like. It looked in person to me like it shows up in the third an fourth pictures. Looks great in the other pics though! I have heared that it looks really good on the new Impala SS!!!
Anyhow, I heard that Cobalts are already being painted in the new "Laser Metallic Blue", so I think you won't have to wait until April to get the car! Once they stopped making Arrival Blue, they switched straight to Laser Blue as far as I know. At least for Canada that is! Could be wrong though?!?!?!?
I really wanted a blue car. I have a red car now, don't like black, can't get silver in Canada, and while I like the yellow, I think it is too flashy as a daily driver (especially in winter which is long in Alberta). I am also undecided as to whether or not I like the Sunburst Orange Metallic on the SS-SC. So I'm going to pray that the car looks good in Laser Blue. Then again, don't Cobalt SS-SC's look great in just about any colour (except for maybe purple or pink)????
I hate all you lucky Arrival Blue SS-SC owners!!!!! --- J.K. !
Here's some pics of various cars in Laser Blue Metallic: (hope this works)

GM's official "chevrolet.com" website shows the Malibu(Maxx) SS in the colour too:

Beware with Lazer Blue if you hate purple . In person , its hard to gather from pics the way the color changes as the angles of the car change , this car in direct sunlight , shades to purple in the darker areas . In some lighting this color is very stunning like at dusk , its a very vibrant electric looking blue . This is just my opinion , but in heavy sunlight , the strong purple hues ruin it .
My vote goes to red out of your 2 selections .

Here's a Cobalt SS show car in Lasr Blue (at least I think it is Laser Blue). Pics are posted in JonelZ's gallery. It does like rather purple like I remember from in person!
Maybe I should order another color???? I hate the violet shade!

Myself, I would love to see Chevy offer it in a medium green. Once upon a time my buddy had a '69 Z28 with a medium to medium-dark green (slightly darker than the Jag British racing green) with the white stripes, it was absolutely stunning.

Radar detectors dont discriminate about the color of the car. Yeah, maybe 30 years ago, red was pulled over more. Nowadays, the most pulled over color is SILVER. (at least in my area), and no, read doesnt cost more for insurance either. Your driving record does.

If I HAD to choose out of red or blue, I would go with the red. I know alot of people like the blue but in a few years blues not gonna be the color to have so I think red is a better resale color. Blue is like Hunter Green was in the early 90's, now they don't even offer it. Red for resale!! My 2 cents
I am going with Silver!!

My new 2.4L SS is coming in red, hopefully in about 2 weeks. I love the Chevy Victory Red. Here's another quick question... in the show car, the lower grille insert has a different pattern than the production model. anyone know if the one from the car show is available? i'd much rather have it.
