The truth about body kits.....

I broke my front lip off this winter so I'm looking to get it replaced possibly with the BC2 front bumper to keep it looking clean. If I cant kind a front lip for cheap, this is my only option. The shop doing the painting and fitment is really hesitant on doing a body kit bumper because he has had issues with them never fitting...

Anybody know what kit fits and what kits are totally PITA to put on?

hate to break the news to you BUT every single one requies fitting, cutting, grinding, sanding and a **** ton of work to take care of al the misc stuff....the only companies that make really any cobalt body kits are extreme dimenesions and their kits are a nightmare and a half but thats the same with any body kit. theres some like valdi sport, veilside, warren and few others that are better but they still require an ass ton of work.... your going to end up spending more on the front bumper and making it fit and getting it right then buying a brand new oem lip and getting it painted.

i charge literally about 400-500 to just fit it then if the people want it all straightened out the price goes up and up and up. body kits can be nice but they just require a lot of work so be prepared.

Yeah. I dont know why but he told me it would be cheaper cost wise in labor to get a new body kit than to re paint a new lip and fix the crack in the bumper. Looking online it costs about 285 w/ shipping for a new lip.... nobody in the classifieds seems to have any available...

well ill break it down for you....

we normally charge 750 for a bumper and paint...that doesnt count if you have a lip that needs fixing and painting...oem parts cost more but the fit is superior and is less likely to not fail you in the long run in terms of paint adhering to a panel....body kits flake off sooner then later.
