ugly front bumper scrape

I don't really know when this happened because my car was so dirty over winter, but i have this nasty scratch/scrape or something on my front bumper. I think today I'm going to try and cover it up. I found this link on popular mechanics which may work. If anyone has any better ideas let me know pls. Thanks

****, looks like what happened to my bumper when some bitch clipped me in this parking lot. Dumb-ass backed right into me.

Anyway, I tried a bunch of scratch removers, including Scratch-X, and some NuFinish stuff; didn't work.

My friend then gave me some Turtle Wax polishing compound, for light/medium scratches. Took the **** out easily. I spent an hour with the polishing compound, then some NuFinish scratch remover, for the hell of it, followed by some Turtle Wax Ice polish. It looks MUCH better than it did. Hardly visible.

It depends how deep it is though; mine was pretty deep, so there is no way to really completely remove it.
