Repost. So many things have to happen before this could ever make it to an ordinary production car that is affordable.

 

i thinks its a terrible idea. If your car battery dies and you have no way to get in the car, and what about when it rains and you have to open the door... At least with normal doors you still block some of the rain with doors like that you have open it all the way, and it takes for ever everythign will get soaked. Disappearing doors FTL

 

Not to completly shoot down this design or anything, but current doors have structure in them for side impact resistance. It doesn't look like this has any of that. Just an outer skin an interior skin.

 

Unless there is a way to make it work both manually and electronically.

Thats very cool. Although it sucks there is no arm rest on the doors. What part of Jersey you from. I'm getting out the navy soon, and I'm heading back to Passaic for colledge. During that time I'll be working on my turbo swap, and was hoping some one can help me out with tuning the whip.

 

They should advertise it as make your drive by's easier with the disappearing door

ya what if the door stops half way open? if you tried to drive anywhere you'd fly away! haha but i say this should be standard on all old people cars... that way they can't smash the crap out of your doors at the grocery store parking lot with theirs!
