Under hood heat shield

Might be a dumb question. The heat shield/barrier that is attached to the underneath of my hood is in rough condition. Getting ready to sell the car and don't want it to be a sore spot when I lift the hood. I have seen some people take it off completely but I want to know if it has negative effects to paint, cooling etc.. Any input is much appreciated!

I bought mine with it off. Idk how long the po had it off. There aren't really any negative effects that I notice, EXCEPT the top of my hood is much hotter than with the heat shield. I think I might bebuying one because I think after a long period it may effect the paint. But I'm not sure on that.

Mine never had one on my car. There aren't any issues with my paint or anything of the sort. If you want a new one I'm pretty sure they are for sale on ebay or something

other cars ive seen cause paint bubbling issues but thats usually due to heat on FRESH paint, you should be fine, yank it off and polish it out underneath
