Underhood Padding removal

Does anyone know how to detatch the plastic pins on the far top, under that plastic flap? Just wondering im detailing my car in the garage and figured i would get the whole hood. Just on my smoke break, time to get back at it.

They should just pop out. They are just like the little ones under the hood that hold on the grill and crap.

Got it, Thanks guy. The padding just ended up ripping off all 4 screws so.....whatever.

Is there any side effects from taking that piece off? Like heating up my hood and peeling up my paint? j/c

I believe that padding is meant to serve as a fire blanket, if something in your engine bay lights up the plastic pieces melt and that padding drapes over like a blanket to help smother the fire.

I'd leave it on, if you don't like the looks GM makes SS logo replacements.
