I don't think vinyls are all that bad. It just depends on how you do them and your taste. If it's something you like then go for it. I've also heard of putting on vinyls and putting a clear-coat over it so you can't tell they're vinyls. I haven't seen it done, but I'd be interested to see how it turns out.

Had vinyls on my truck and clear coated over them. You couldn't tell unless you looked up close, just driving by you'd think they were painted.

i do vinyl for a living. it all depends on your taste and the car i think. not everythign looks good on every car. i do alot of strip kits for people and some side car stuff. here is something i just did for a fellow css.net member:

i also did all the vinyl on pinkstripedcobalts car. now in the 3rd picture you will see the big ugly windshild banners. that was for some sponcers whos booth we had the car at. those came off after the show:

how much do you charge for those strips man? wonder if they'd look good with the "SS" badge still on the side?

Ive actually given this some thought before and just thought i would make a few custom designs for my own personal use.

Heres basically what I created.

They are a somewhat kind of a tribute to the old muscle cars of the day.

There is this one user on the forums that I have checked out his pictures, and liked what he did.
Maybe some of you have seen them but he has a black cobalt with the tall wing and a red stripe going down the side and crosses over the trunk. Along with painted red accented interior.
Its kinda like the same concept of the starsky and hutch stripe. But his I thought it was pretty clever.
