Visibility better with projectors?
#2
Since I put mines in, I still yet have to aim them, but I do not do alot of driving during the night hrs. I can say though that without proper aiming, my visibility is limited.

Thats interesting how they produce better results. I have silverstars right now and I wouldnt mind better visibility without going to HID's.

i called sylvania and they said "silverstars are a high performance bulb, and they always burn out faster, just by design"
HID's might even be cheaper

HIDs are illegal and disgustingly annoying when put in regular stock reflector housings.
they are not meant to be there. and they are blinding to oncoming traffic.
they need to be put in projectors, so the high intensity light can be focused and aimed correctly.
Projectors, even with the crappy bulbs they come with are like the other guys said.
same as stock on lowbeam, but with a sexy cutoff and focused beam.
10X better on high.
you can see a country ****** mile with projector highbeams.

i put nokya super blues in mine. The brights are way brighter and lows around the same just that nifty cut off line! However the aiming is a lil annoying but i got mine almost perfect now.
this is my lows with the nokyas!

what he's saying is they dont come adjusted correctly. like how on ur stock lights the light from both the passenger and drivers side hit the same point, with projectors they come offset.that's what happened with mine. i put tape on the garage so iknew where i needed the light to shine and when i installed my projectors, one light was right on the tape, but the other one was shining about a good fot and a half above it.

Good info guys, keep it coming. I plan on going with HID's eventually, and would like some info as well. I'll probably be starting with the stock housing though.

please dont put HIDs in stock housings.
You ever see those guys comin down the road in a nice pickup or something, and even in broad daylight their headlights make the back of your eyes hurt from 500 yards away?
those are HIDs when put erroneously in reflector housings.
stock housings are engineered to reflect halogen lighting.
HID lighting is like firing a 50cal sniper round through a glock barrel.
it just sprays light allll over the place.
HID lighting needs to be controlled, aimed and focused.
I strongly suggest anyone intending HID lighting do some serious reading about it.

well theres 3 options if your gonna go HID
1 ebay projectors
2 fab up your own projectors.
3 say **** the world, im the only important driver out here. and you can all be blind so that i can see better.

Number 3 wouldn't be me. I'm not an ass, and I have the Sylvania Sylverstars and they are bad ass for vision purposes. number 2 would be nice if I had more space and tools...Maybe I will just wait a bit longer and see if a company comes out with a decent projector set for us.

If your really interested in it, just start diggin around about the legalities of it, how HID light is actually produced etc....
its actually kinda interesting, and it will help you understand why reflectors really dont work with em.
Have you seen the guy fabbin the astra lights? now thats a badass set of projectors.
wish the cobalt came with those stock.

Oh yeah, I've been watching that come along. Those are gonna be pretty sweet when done. We have some people on here with some awesome ideas as well as awesome stuff that they have come up with, but no way or drive to find ways to have em mass produced.
