Vortex Generators

Painted and installed Vortex Generators on the TC. I know you most commonly see these on Evo's (very few Evo's around here though). Anyway, I think they're cool, they're supposed to serve a purpose (http://www.sigmaautomotive.com/perfo...kz/vortekz.php), and it's something a little different. Anyway, here's a couple pics just for *****-n-giggles'
If I get tired of them I can just rip 'em off, they're only $20 lol.

haha like I said I can always pull them off It's just 3m tape and $20. Maybe I'm weird; was just curious if anyone else liked them.

Starting from left to right. It looks like you spaced spike number 2 to close to 1.

But do yourself a favor and remove them.

They're not supposed to be straight. There is a template to follow, which I did. (see link, if interested)

If they where on strait, and all the way back almost touching the glass... they'd still look pretty bad, but better then they do now.

Thought about that. Or leaving them black the way they came.

But you're right, I see it in the pic, the second one in is not spaced right. Easily fixed lol.

Why wouldn't they be functional? Do you have to be doing high speeds for any functionality? Not that it really matters, I just wanted to do them "correctly"

p.s., went out and fixed the one that was spaced wrong. Thanks for pointing it out Southtown

idk. but i remember reading soemthing that they have em on airplanes, which fly at hundreds of miles per hour... and it only makes A SLIGHT DIFFERENCE.... so cars going 1/8 the speed... nah this **** is whack.

looks alright, i liked that u made em blend in with the stripes. they look alright, but i disagree with using them for functionality, just plain retarded.

I put them on for looks, but hoped for some functionality if installed correctly.
See the link. It doesn't seem like you need to be going a million miles an hour for them to have a benefit. It improves the flow seperation as it comes off the roof. By you guys' logic, the cowl induction wouldn't have worked on a 1970 Chevelle either. Irregardless, I did put them on for looks, but I wanted to install them correctly. If you scroll down the link page it explains why they are placed the way they are.

No biggie though, like I said $20 and easily removed. I asked for opinions and I appreciate the feedback.

I dont think they look that bad, I think further back on the roof would be better. I am digging the stripes though.

On a scale of 1-10, I give it a 9.5.
I like the look, maybe the two on the stripes should also be striped, and I`m not sure if there`s anything you can actually put on a modern car that improves aerodynamics at the speeds we most/must travel in.
But it does make your ride unique (for now)... I say COOL

P.S. Are the stripes on the hood flamed?
I can`t make them out well from your sig. pic.
If so, double cool.

WOW A positive comment. Thanks. I did just reorder more of them, I have been convinced to do them all in red, and straight/closer to the roofline.
Yeah, my hood stripes are flamed. I have rec'd both positive and negative feedback on that on the internet. In person, always compliments. I wanted something a little different but not too over the top. Glad you like them. Better pic"

Those flames are sweet.
I wish I could post attachments, and I know how you feel about comments that don`t make the individualization of your ride a pleasurable venture.
You know, if you wanted a regular S/S or any car, you wouldn`t even be posting on line, you`d just gas-and-go, like all the millions of people around you.
Thanx for posting the hood picture, go to my album and check out the "Beautiful One".

What would a set of stripes set one back, I am thinking about investing in some but want to know what I am getting into.
