Wanting to buy 10,000k HID's

Hey, i have been searching about HID's for a while and am alittle confused still. I want to order them and order the right stuff.

Like everyone, i want them to last a long time. I was reading on the vvme site for example that they only last 3,000 hours. Is that long? Kinda seemed not too long to me for some reason.

I have a 2008 cobalt lt and would like to just plug and play HID's in the stock lights. I want to have high and low beams and act EXACTLY like factory just super bright

I've seen the one company 3B selling them on here but again am wanting to order the right kit and have it act like factory just brighter. Any mods whatsoever I'll need to do?

Just another small question, i need a kit to work with 9007 right?

Thanks!

3,000 hours = 125 days of your lights turned on for 24 hours straight lol.

Plenty

I'm confused about one thing...with HID's in stock housings, won't you have problems? Either a bad cutoff or blinding other drivers or anything? If not, I might just look into getting some without projectors as I don't like any of the projectors made for our cars and I can't afford to buy custom projectors (and not willing to attempt making them).

Also, don't HID's over time change (I mean if you buy 6000k, won't they eventually get to be 8000k...I thought I read that somewhere)...if I sound like a moron, then I probably am when it comes to HID's...just thought I heard something about them changing color with age. Because if that's the case, I would probably get 4500k or 6000k.

as far as I know they don't change color.

Putting HID (brighter) lights in your REFLECTOR housings reflect the light in different directions besides the road. This sometimes includes other drivers or in the middle of no where.

Projectors aim the light to where it is aimed towards the ground. Therefore causing better light out put for you and keeps other drivers attentions away from your headlights. AKA cops

dude, your first pic blinds the **** out of me and drivers on the opposite side of the road are lower, so you're blinding everyone on the road.

OK, so really, projectors are a must...oh well...didn't want to spend a fortune for it...as I said before, I don't like any of the projectors out that are cheaper and won't spend the time or money for custom projectors...just something else to waste money on...I'll put the money towards my Sky RL (now I've got a good $100 towards it...lol..seriously though, I'm going to save my money).

to have hi's and low's you need a bi-xenon. there are 4diff types of 9007 bulbs.

9007-1 = hid low beam, No high
9007-2 = Hid low beam, halogen high. (shitty high, might as well not be there)
9007-3 = teloscpoic, which means the bulb its self moves up and down when you switch to high or low.
9007-4 = hid low and hid high.

Standard halogen bulbs are only rated for 300 - 350 hours so I would not be too concerned about how long they will last.

You want bright? Don't go with 10k. Nice for show, not so nice for go. 6k would give you far more light output but won't have that "ricey" purple tint - no offense to anyone that has 10k / 12k btw, just my opinion.

And yes, hid's in stock housings may cause problems with glare. Those that have them say it's no problem, those that don't say it glares like crazy. Your mileage may vary

Have not seen anyone brave enough to post pics of their cutoffs with hid's in the stock housings so no info to form an opinion on.

what about the Cobalt Addiction HID kit, i emailed the company and Kenny said

"The stock replacement hid will plug right in and will have high and low beam just like factory . You can adjust the lights so they don't blind people "

I have 6000K , aka cool blue in my headlights. It is not blinding , because I have 1st gen projectors...I would reccomend getting projectors (though a PIA to hookup in them). If puttin em in factory lights, paint them or something (IMHO). Good luck. 3B spec and mkulrey have the best! I have 3Bspec HIDs(in my car) and Mkulrey HIDs (for sale). My lights for sale are only for projectors though.

Here is a recent, f*cked up pic of mine w/ 6000K
