Hey, i have a black car and was wondering what type of wax would be best and not that expensive, i know that the best might be the most expensive but is there a compromise level at all?, thx

ok for black you really need to play around and find what you like best. But for starters i would use either mothers reflections top coat or meguiars nxt tech wax. Since they are tops coats you would need to use a cleaner wax before you used them. they are not too expensive at like 8-15 dollars a bottle and last about 8-10 waxings at least.

like black o5ss said they are probley the 2 best waxs out on the market right now at least over the counter. but a good thing also for black would to be to put down a syntetc wax first followed by a carnuba wax it makes for a really great shine and in that case you could use the nxt for example followed by megures step 3 carnuba wax and it would really pop.

today i laid down the mothers reflections top coat on top of all of the prior waxings with 3 stage meguiars and using viper wax from work and it just made the car shine better than after it was washed.

So to get a base coat i would want to run it through a car wash + wax, and then apply nxt tech wax followed by the carnuba?

dont get cheap but best way is to lay downt he three step process. after you wash you use a cleaner wax to remove grime. then use a scratch remover like scratch x then use a top coat to make it shine. after that you can either polish with a glaze or use the top coat. repeat that process every 6 months witht the three step tho.
