What do i use to seal raw polished aluminum?

Ok, i rattlecanned my wheels last year.. came out nice but kept getting rock chips etc.. ive since got them sandblasted and i decided to see how one would look polished. i think it came out pretty nice even though it took me forever..

so my question is, can i just wax these bad boys to keep them protected from the elements or should i be using something else to seal these up? thanks.

I'd use clear coat paint.

i believe flitz makes a type of compound that protects them and makes them water repellent.

all i know is dont clear them unless your using them year round, just because the clear makes the shine look duller

thats what i would do. it would allow you to take power ball to them every so often to bring the shine back to the fullest it can be.

btw what compounds/steps did you use to shine them up that much?

I actually typed that then deleted it, because I wasn't sure if you would have to re-sandblast the wheels to get the clear powder to stick, which would kill the shine.

i agree on that statement but i am also worried about the clear not sticking to my wheels and then theres the whole thing of the clear dulling the finish which i do not want.

And after all that time you spent sanding them an polishing it up. Keep it polished.

On a side note, what's the best way to clean up my rims as I have a bit of curb rash on one and the others have black spots on them. I want them to look like they just came from the factory. Also on the inside of the rim (where the wheel weights go) what could I use in there as it is NASTY.

I would keep them polished but if you really want to paint them I would use a candy over them.
