What to do next?!?
What to do next?!?
Hey everyone, i jus recently bought a new 2007 Cobalt SS/SC. It is completely stock, with the standard wing(not the high rise one because thats just what it came with ). So far the only thing i've done to my car is take off the GM square badges. I am getting anxious and just want to hear some input on what i can/should do next. I just am not allowed to put in intake or exhasut or anyhting liek that yet, i was thinking maybe jsut a K&N filter. But thanks for any advice, pics are helpful.
well right now parents seein as they are payin half the car, and have this thing about the warranty, i dont kno if that would affect it. If i can do that stuff i was looking to do some do it yourself things or something that will make it stand out more.
also how much will the stageII be and the installation, seeing as GM needs to install it for it to be covered.

I would get the AEM dryflow filter and do the airbox mod. Other then that you are kind of limited if the parents don't want you messing with much.
Some things you could do though:
paint your fuse box, coil, and fuel rail covers.
polish your valve cover
polish your SC
paint your brake calipers
install LEDs inside the cabin
etc etc etc
all that stuff is cheap and easy.

well as for the stage 2, you gotta shop around man. i waited for months until i found the price i was willing to pay; $470 shipped. I wanted 450 but whatever. Then for install, it was 138.00 and then 168.00 after everything. Cost is completely variable for the stage 2 kit. Basically, the smarter you are, the less you pay.

If ya gotta do the warranty thing , just stick with GM stuff . The stg 2 and 3 tunes arent exactly optimal , but the performance is pretty respectable .
Just listed in order of how Id buy if u cant do it all at once .
Ingals torque brace
AEM filter and airbox mod .
GM stg. 2
GM stg 3 2 pass intercooler mods
GM cat back
GM mani
SSC springs
Stut bar

I assume your car is black then? lol... I say no. I don't really like the look of black calipers; they look too plain. Red would look really good on black, but that's just what I like. If your car is black, your options are endless as to what color you want to choose. Just about anything would look right.
thanks, i was thinking of getting springs as well, someone said to get sportlines, are the ssc better?? and my car has 1500 miles on it do i need anyhting else besides just springs such as struts, etc.?
Well yea you will need them eventually. Depends on the drop really and the road conditions you drive every day. Like me i have the Tenzo springs and i deliver pizza in the middle of SE Texas where the roads are absolutely horrible and therefore my struts didnt last no time. but there are people on here with the Tenzos that still have the stock struts in tact and working fine.
But if you want some aftermarket ones then i think Koni is the only company that has them out for us as of right now. I may be wrong but they are the only ones that i ever hear of.
