I like the way our wheels look on the SS/SC with the gunmetal color. I was thinking today since they are painted alloy wheels that we have I was wondering if there was a way we could paint them.. possibly black because I have a black SS. I personally think the black on black wheels would look sweet... the same for silver with black wheels.. Just wondering if it was possible?

 

Yes it is possible But I'd reccomend you have a shop do it or really take your time to clean them up right and prep time, I did this with my old RX-7 and they looked pretty damn good

 

I personally like my gunmetal with my arrival blue SS/SC. I wouldn't paint mine for anything, but to each their own.

I am SO glad that they aren't the polished chrome looking things on the SS N/As...I saw them in person yesterday and thought they looked ghetto fabulous

 

don't paint em, have em powdercoated...should only be like $200ish bucks

 

i have the n/a ss and i like the wheels that come on it. i like the gunmetal ones too, but i like mine more naturally. i am still thinking of getting a set of RH evolution c5's after my factory rubber wears out.

 

i think if you did the face black and left the insets the gun metal color they would look pretty sweet

Yes, and while we're at it let's re-upholster the roofliner of the car black, and paint anything else balck that we can. /sarcasm off. Eh, it's just my persoanl opinion that black on black is ghetto. Do what you want tho, cause it's your car. If you like it thats what counts.

Paint then Anthracite. Not quite all black, but definately darker thean gunmetal!

What about getting them powercoated a hyperblack, or even bright silver?

 

I think GM did a awesome job with stock wheel finish . I actually cant believe a finish lke that is on a GM wheel period . About your car though , I would not do the black . It just looks like a police car to me . 2005SSSC? is right on with the Anthracite . Pending on the right shade . Some anthachite wheels look painted which is ok looking , but you get into higher end wheels , and even some wheels on Mercedes the anthracite color is still paint but it looks like a dark tinted polished(not chrome) aluminum . Its just awesome looking .
Also another finish that would look truely sick on a Black SS is haveing the stock wheels black chromed . Its expensive , but omg does it look cool . Below is alink to company that black chromes wheels with pics . If you can afford it , that would my recomendation bro .

i dont like that really, from a short distance it looks like steelies, you gotta have something to make them stand out like a polished lip or just a different color
