What HID Color?

Should I get 8000K or 10000K, I want blue, but do you sacrifice much distance when going from 8 to 10? Thanks.

depends, do u want pure blue, or a hint of purple, 8000K is deep blue, 10000K is blueish purple, and deep blue at times. i love mine, and everyone else that sees em agree

heres mine.

I have the 8K and I like the way they look, they have a bluish tint to them. For some pics of what they look like, go to www.visionbulbs.com, they have pics there of each HID kit. Should make your decision a little easier.

I would go with the 8k as you still get the blue but dont really decrease your vison. As the higher you go in K the lower you go in actual light output to the road. Just my .02

If your going to get HID's and you want the actual advantage of having them don't go over 6000K. Simply put.

Go 4300K like Mercury said

Thanks guys, I went with the 8000K bulbs, should still get more distance out of them, and they'll have the blue tint I'm after.

bought 10ks
color is great. light is horseshit.
I learnt my lesson and forked out money for 6ks.

10k HID performance gave less distance than stock halogens.

anything past about 4300K you start to loose distance. 4300K is the IDEAL for visibility

they do a little more than just look good.

Regular housing + HID

Projector + HID

Comparison of beams. Reflector vs Projection.

I went with some 8000K Pilot HIDs they are supposed to be good quality and have a 1 year warranty against defects. Yes they're in a projector housing.

thats a pic of stock housings with HIDs....that is what your lights look like.

Projectors:
You dont have to like them. you just have to realise that projectors are the only way HIDs are even remotely close to legal (even then they arent truely legal) and safe for your fellow motorists.

HIDs do not work with reflector housings.
they blind people. no matter how much you try to convince yourself otherwise.

Ill be honest, I dont really like the top half of the projectors either.
I love the lower half with the 2 lenses, but i hate the LEDs and the chrome blinker, but i have a plan to alter that in the future anyway.

But I knew that if i wanted to get HIDs, I had to do it properly and focus and aim that shotgun blast of light through a lens. And that means projectors.

for the piece of mind of the other drivers i meet on the road....not to mention the fact that police know what a projector HID looks like compared to a reflector HID.

Wow now you can see how blinding it is without the projectors

i try to look away but they still blind me. why do people think HID's on non-HID housings look cool? non-HID headlights come like that for a reason.

Once I saw the glare, I decided to get projectors. It'd be much cheaper to just put the HIDs in the stock housing, but I might end up paying a ticket, and blinding everyone.
