What level of tint should i get?

i found this place that will do my tints for 200$ this week which i think is a decent deal. anyway, im having a hard time deciding on what level i want.

they said they only do 5%,15% and 35%

i was planning on getting like 30%, but they dont offer it.

i think 35% would be too light, but 15% is kinda low. my friend has 20% on his mustang and it seems pretty dark.

im kinda thinkin about maybe doing 15% in the back and 35% in the front.

i have an orange cobalt.

what do you guys think?

Mine is something like 17% in the back and like 37% in the front. The front looks like it's like barely tinted, but I really didn't want to have to deal with ******* cops. The back though is a nice level of tint though, I like it. It's not so dark that you can't see anything inside, but it's enough.

Not sure what the law is in PA, but I would stay legal. Cops love to give tint tickets.

If you want to come down to MD, you can get 20% all the way around for $200.00.
Lifetime warranty included.

Tint laws are pretty strict in PA and MD, so its hard to find a place that will do illegal tint cheap.

the law in PA is kinda vague. i think its like supposed to be like so that 70 percent of light can show in..or if you can see inside the car. i dont wanna be a standout to the cops. so thats kinda why im thinking 35%...but then again...i dont wanna get tints and then not really notice a difference.

also another factor...how hard is it to see out of 15%? i have a hard enough time seeing out the back of my car as it is lol

15% is a little dark at night.
20% is the perfect amount in my opinion anyway.

BTW, tint will stand out at almost any level on an orange car.
Looks freakin sick!

But also stands out ALOT!

Good luck what ever you decide though!

i have 35% (NC state law... blah) and it looks great on my red balt. not as light as some may think. i think it's perfect, but i would go darker, if it was legal...

You should see how hard it is to see out the back with limo (5%) tint. I used to have that on my '88 Mustang 5.0 and man was it ever hell. The worst was when there was a black vehicle parked behind you.

I would personally say 20% for the back and 35% or higher for the front (if any). If the cops don't see a difference from your front windows to your back ones, they will pull you over for sure. If there is a slight difference they may be less likely to pull you over.

When I get my car done, I think I'm going to go with 20% back window, 5% side back windows and hopefully something around 50% for the front sides.

15 is very very dark. I have 20% all around and you can barly even see me inside. I got pulled over 3 times in one month. I was not even speeding or anything. Got one fine and two warnings. Here is the deal man, take it from me. 35% is great for all around. You really don't want to get pulled over on the way to work and be late cuz of tint BS.

PA tinting laws are very clear. No tint is legal. Not only is my best friend a cop, but I also am related to a Judge. The laws have recently changed. Any police officier trained with a certificate of inspection rules and regulations (which is in every cops training as in the academy to become a cop) can use a tint meter. This also allows them to inspect your vehicle. A normal window with no tint will allow approx 70-80% light to come though. The law states that at least 70% light has to pass through the window. So any tint on any window is now illegal on all cars. SUVs and trucks are differant and fall under a differant law. It really sucks but the cops who are not dicks won't pull you over if they can see you in the car. Any tint between 5-30% your going to get pulled over.

Ive got 20 and I love it. Cant really see in but no problems seeing out. Back window is a little tough at night but nothing terrible. Got pulled over once by an "inspections officer" and he made me take it off. Had to get a cop to sign off saying I fixed it and he laughed at the fact that I got a ticket. Same day, got the tint put back on..lol, kids never learn. Moral here, 20 is nice, most cops dont care

I have 22% front windows and 6% rear quarters, rear windshield and the strip on the front windshield. Here are some pics. I just realized, I don't have any decent clear pics of the front banner, sorry.

i got 17% all around. i think it looks amazing on my black car. I ran into the same problem. the ppl that did mine only did 5%, 17%, and 35%. My original plan was like 25%. that way it was dark but not that dark. I thought 17% was too dark but its just right. Havent had any trouble yet with the police. In Ohio 50% is the darkest. so im like 30% over the limit. O well
