Whats the possibilty

if u paint a valve cover with the gm paint and then clear it with the high heat clearcoat will it peel?

im thinking yes it will but does anyone know for sure?

it shouldnt flake/peel if you primer it first. but thats just my opinion.

I did this on my truck... it was fine... just clean the **** out of it first. i scuffed mine up with a wire brush too. that made a difference i think. There's also engine block high heat enamel paint that comes in Chevy racing colors too.... just a thought...

no douche...but when i get it painted i wanna get the valve cover matching and having it powder coated idk if they can color match

i'm not sure. I've helped and done myself primering and painting of intake piping, spark plug covers, superchargers and havent had any issues.

I have done some of the same with out primering, and just the gm paint with clearcoat and they have flaked.

so u have painted a supercharger with a gm paint but primered it and cleared it with the high resistant clear coat and it was good to go?

i would say no. the plastic doesnt get as hot as the rest of the engine because its plastic obviously. the high temp clear coat will hold the whatever is underneath it in. make sure you fine sand and primer it first

not with the GM paint, but with normal dupli-color gloss black.

I dont want to promise you that it won't flake, because i'll feel shitty if you do it and it flakes after a while. From my past expierences i have seen that if you put a few coats of primer down, it usually helps, but i cant guarentee anything
