Wheelskin Steering Wheel Cover

Hey Guys,

I bought a leather steering wheel cover for wheelskins for my balt but havn't installed it yet. From what I've read so far they're a PITA to install but I most people love them once they get past that. Have any of you installed a "lace on" cover? And I don't wanna hear from you "mine came wrapped with leather from the factory" guys. Thanks!

Jon

Thats the one that comes with a needle to thread the entire thing right? I killed my fingers on that and it still came out half assed. I wasn't happy.

I'm not going to have time to install mine until the middle of next week. I'll post pics when I get them.

I would have a wife/mom/girlfriend do it to be honest. Unless you have a ton of patience and are good with that, pass it off. Keep the thread pulled really tight, keep going back a few inches and pull it tighter and tighter.

I attempted to install the wheelskins cover this past weekend. It was a complete and utter failure! It wouldn't sew worth crap with that damn waxy thread. I'm gonna have a hell of a time trying to get my gf to do it. Sorry to disappoint you guys but i guess im not gonna have any pics

Instead of starting a new thread, decided to bump this one. Anyone get this thing on there ok? I want one, but if it is THAT hard to do, I might not bother.

^Out of curiousity has anyone gotten this to work? As you can see I gave up on it a long time ago.

bring it to an upholstry shop, or an upscale furniture store, they will have someone there, or have an on-call guy that does furniture repairs. Trust me, for some cash they would be happy to do it.

We sell Wheelskins products...

I've never installed one myself, but I never had any comments about them being hard to put on from previous customers. Most were Cavalier/Sunfire owners... so maybe there's something drastically different between your wheel & theirs that makes it more difficult. I know the Cobalt size is a "custom size", as it's not one of their regular stock sizes.

If anyone happens to need/want one, just let me know.
