White HVAC overlay for my ION.

Hey guys, I just wanted to show you a couple pics of my white faced HVAC overlay that I made last night. Took me an hour and a half to do from start to finish. Looks better than stock, however in the pics, the clear plastic over the white overlay reflected the flash from the camera, so it looks brighter than it is. Check out page 4 of my cardomain site to see before and after pics.

Opinions? Comments?

Well to be honest, the gauges are more in your line of sight than your rear view mirror, and people check their rear view mirrors all the time. In that picture it looks far off to the right, but it's not. All you have to do is flick your eyes over to the right and there they are. Nothing major. Took me all of 10 mins to adjust. Best thing to do, is keep an open mind and go to test drive it. You'll be surprised at how easy and uncomplicated it really is. The only thing I wish, is that the tach was in the place of the fuel and temp gauges, and vice versa. Minor thing though.

I agree about the tach, when I test drove the redline I wished it was on the near side as well.

Your overlay idea has given me an idea.. if we can color match the silver we can cover the black around the climate control and the black on the stereo and make it look like the original cobalt interior shots

Some of the Cobalts in the SEMA pics had silver overlay on the deck and HVAC... so I'm still confused on what production is going to look like.

the gauges the red line are my favorite part ...i think gm has created a really unique car that will get more praise down the road...i drove one , but i never looked down...i just drive as fast as everyone else and if no ones in front of me....so ibasically the gauge placement dont make a difference
