Who does custom Urethane work?

Or how do you do it? I would like to modify my RK Sport front lip to allow for some more front ground clearance. I have the plan, I just don't have the know-how. If it was fiberglass I could do it, but it's not. I've never worked with urethane before.

dont trust this cuz i am not familiar with it either...but the idea of a hot wire setup to cut the urethane sound plausible...it is plastic and a hot wire works well for plastic...just make a guide cuz they are hard to keep straight...just an idea

I know you can cut and melt back together but it is very hard to do right.
I'm not too familiar with the RK kit but is it possible to cut off the top portion of the kit rather then in the middle because you probably would have a better chance of making it look good.

hey there half.... urethane will be eaiser to cut than the fiberglass (since the urethane won't chip, splinter or flake). But if you remove (cut off) the return lip at the bottom you might seriously weaken the structure. Hard to say not knowing what it looks like. Are you going to chipmonks tomorrow... we could take a lookie and come up with a plan. There is always a way to do it! I'll be happy to help.

You can cut urethane with any sharp saw I use a air powered jig saw basically with a fine tooth blade. To glue go to your local body shop supply house and they will have adhesive to glue stuff back together if you need to. SEM and Norton make the adhesives and both are very good. PM me if you need anything else.

Cutting and glueing, no problem. How do you fill seems? What do you use? I'm not familiar with a specific kind of urethane filler that can be sanded and shaped.
