I live in new jersey and window tints on the front are illegal...everyone keeps telling me to get them anyway but im a couple months away from the police academy and i cant do anything illegal or get tickets......
Is it gay if I get rear tinted windows only and not the front? Everyone keeps telling me its gay on just the back

it still looks decent if you have tint only in the back...too bad you couldnt do a slight tint in the front, just to even it out....[course this is coming from someone with 25% front/20% back and the law is 35% both]

 

the summers coming up...i could always drive around with the windows down i guess

 

wow that sucks. our laws are 35% i believe, but i said **** it and have 5% all the way around including the front window strip that extends 6" down. i would say lightly tint the fronts and then tint the backs.

 

sometimes its just not worth it... my buddy got pulled over by a cop for running a red, and the cop made him roll up his windows to check if they had tint... that would have been bad if they were tinted... hed of lost his license right there!

 

Kwest we got the same going on 5% all around, dark as ****. Also have the front done at least 6inches down and about 5inches up from bottom. Love it during the day but night it's very very hard to back up. lol

my bros been pulled over a couple times for front tints...he constantly has to avoid cops if theres a road block or construction he takes a different route just cause of the tints

 

wow, NJ is tough...WA is 35% all around but the cops just dont care about your tint im thinking of going darker!

no, your roadworthiness is based on where your insured/licensed blah blah blah. otherwise americans would never be allowed to drive into canada because of our daytime running light policies.

 

i have the whole car done with 20% and i really dont get bothered...but if i were you i wouldnt do the front windows till after the academy. i know people that went in and the cops broke ***** when there were things done to cars...like tints..etc.

 

exactly my point dude but nobody agrees with me....the cops will bust my ***** with how I want to be a cop and uphold the law yet Im breaking it at the same times with illegal tints..

 

just wait till you get out and you are a cop then get it tinted...or get the back done now and do the rest later on

cuz if they are off duty and there is a problem [high speed chase or something], they can intervene and use their own car...havnt you heard of undercover?

 

im not being nasty but thats wrong...i have two brothers that are cops...that dont go undercover or chase people when they are off duty

 

they can if they want to or if their close to whats happening.

 

not unless its a major event(shooting or hit and run)..seriously my brothers let things slide when their off duty

hit and run is a major event? happens all the time here some cops like to get in the action, some are lazy.
