Wing or no wing?

ALRIGHT! Here's the deal. So I just got a 2007 Black SS/SC and waiting on the delivery, anyways me being me... I couldn't stop bragging about it to my friends and got all my friends into a SS mood, one of them started suggesting taking the wing off. He showed me a whole bunch of pictures and I must admit, the wingless SC looks pretty hot. HOWEVER, on the contrary, it also looks like an unfinished project car at the same time. The wing clearly distinguishes that it is an SS/SC and I've always been a wing guy.

So this begs the question... Wing or no wing?

Ive gone back and forth soo many times. I really want to get rid of the wing but like you said it makes it an SS/SC. Plus some angles, the back just looks bare without it. Ill probably kill it though in the future when I get the *****, lol.

i still think that the scion tC-style spoiler looks hot. you still have a spoiler, it's not the regular low-pro spoiler, and you can actually see out the back window of the car.

soon as i get an ss/sc (hopefully soon), that'll probably be what i go with.

or no spoiler at all!

Get the spoiler.... You can always take it off or change it ...but it does make it stand out for a factory ride ..... It has grown on me...

I used to think the old Plymouth Superbird spoilerwas ridicilous, but now it's a stand-out feature....So...

God Damn!! Thats alot for the wing. I was quoted here between $80-$150. I just wanted to see what everyone else was paying.

I like the wing looks wise, but for performance its like an anchor in the wind on the freeway.. I'm keeping mine on though. I dont think wingless looks that good unless the car is lowered

I went with the low pro spoiler on mine. It was actually part of the reason I bought from one dealer versus the others. Personally I'm a little torn on the big wing.

When I was in my late teens/early 20's I would have loved the big wing because it definitely catches your eye and tells you that the car has something different about it. I had an '88 Mustang LX 5.0L with the Saleen spoiler, so I obviously enjoyed the big wings at one time. Now I find the big wing to be a little too "racer" for me.

The only time where I question my choice of spoilers is when I see a black LS coupe drive by and mine doesn't look much different from it. It's a little frustrating when you spend almost twice as much and your car isn't really set apart. Once I do my tinting and a few other things, it will probably get better.

I thought of the wingless look too, but it definitely looks like something is missing at most angles.

Wing!! The wing looks great! Distinguishes the SC, makes it known its an SC in my opinion. The RKSPORT is the only other option I'd go with though....that thing is hot. No wing....looks bald and like you said, unfinished project. The tC spoiler is a good idea too.

ive never liked big wings. To tell you the truth, if the ss/sc didnt come with the big wing there is no way in hell i would have put one on. But since it did come with it, its grown on me. I took it off for a week or so but ended up putting it back on. i dont know why but before my car was lowered i hated the wing. but now that its dropped i love it. weird huh?

It is very nice being able to see out of the rear window. Functionally, not sure if the wing is functional, but if it is, it's adding downforce to the rear of a vehicle that has front wheel drive that, in my opinion, is counter productive.

Keep the wing. I'm not a big fan of wingless on any Cobalts.

Oh man... decisions decisions... but I think I'll end up keeping the wing... and when I get tired of it, I'll take it off (don't know why I added this smilie, I just thought it was a sick smily so I included it... hehe)
