Wing removal

I been trying to get the high rise off my trunk but it don't want to come loose. I'm afraid it's going to put a crease in the trunk or something. People to removed them chime in with some ideas of what you did

I think it has a double sided adhesive to it. My SRT-4 had some and I just wiggled it to break it loose.

I'd suggest getting some fishline under it to break up the adhesive, the same way you would go about removing emblems off your trunk.

Im sure theyre is going to be some scratches because the wing has probably shifted during driving and such before removing the wing. So I wouldn't be too worried about it.

Just have some goo gone handy to get any glue off the trunk.

I can't imagine it doing anymore damage to the paint than the wing already has.

would gas work better than goo gone or would that be worse?

Also what to cover the holes with besides electric tape to protect it from rain getting in and such

You're worried about the clean/paint coming up, and you're asking if using gas would be better?

Just go to a hardware store and get caulk/sticker remover, $5 and you won't have to worry about your paint

Keep an eye on my thread for a non body work approach.

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/appe...ig-few-260524/

Other wise, you have to go to a shop and have them bondo it and paint it.

Heat gun.

/end thread.

That's how I got a black SS spoiler of a deck lid. Eventually will put the high rise on my car. Fishing line just made more marks on the deck lid and cut through some of the plastic. I can take pics of it and post it up if you need too.

Seriously bro, just go to your local high school and find the same color ls, wait for him to come out and tell him you want to trade trunk lids. He will jizz in his pants when you offer to trade.

Best thing to do is buy a dual temp heat gun. Heat it up and then it'll pull off. That's what I did and it works best.

But if you don't have one, use fishing line and it'll work. Just takes time.
