Wingless guys...
Wingless guys...
how did you guys cover up your holes in your trunk.. im debating on how to get it done BUT i dont wanna permanantly cover the holes, i might put the wing back on in the future.. thanks in advance
what color is your car? find someone with a wingless in your color and trade or buy one from a junk yard and keep your original cause any temporary thing will look tacky trust me i have the trunk to prove it haha
I used Quicksteel to do mine. It will definitley hold but it won't look pretty at all. Honestly you're better off just swapping trunks. Plus there will be two big spots with fresh clean paint where the wing was.
im leaning towards the vinyl simply because it will 1) protect the trunk 2) make the holes less visible and 3) is not permanent... oh and i dont like thinking that if i were to trade someone who is wingless and i were to want the wing back on, that i would have to buy a new one... ssyellow lookin forward to some pics
i am also leaning towards the vinyl to cover up the spots where the wing indented itself into the trunk on the corners.. its visible on the bottom pic

Yeah I will do as soon as I can, hopefully this weekend. Im not one to rush things and I only have time on the weekend due to school. Hopefully its warm out. The vinyl I got is not perfect but its damn close and I got it for free so I dont mind.
I've seen few guys who have 'patched' their holes pass the reflection test
i used to have carriage bolts and now have quick steel just havent painted it yet and after paint it still wont be perfect but i dont wanna spend the 300 to get it fixed when i plan on buying a cf trunk eventually anyway
I'd be careful with that whole "putty" method. Bondo wont hold forever. I've seen guys who did that with shaving their doors and having the whole thing pop out. You might want to tack some metal there just to be safe. The holes are not huge but bondo is not the answer for long term.

dont bother filling and repainting. Just keep an eye on junk yards for a base model in the same color. I just found one and I love that I had to do no work. Plus I can always switch back to the stock trunk with the high rise ,,good luck

Vinyl or paintshop /thread

After paint and body work. Definitely worth searching the junk yards for
If you can find a wingless trunk in your color do it! With out a doubt, the cheapest and easiest way to go wingless.
I just know how much money it costs to weld a couple holes shut, and re paint a trunk. It's outrageous what some shops want.
