with or without?

i photoshopped the strips on the door to see if i would like it removed. what do you think? also, do you think my dealer would notice or care if i returned the car without the ding-protecting strips at the end of my lease?

Yes your dealer would care and charge you for it at the end of the lease if you decided to return the car instead of buying it out.

you could always just keep em and put em back on

I dont think the dealer would care. My car is a lease and my dealer says i should take them off, he also thinks a turbo would be a wicked addition and debaging. Maybe you have strickter dealers down there. Here we can do anything we want to the car as long as it doesnt de value it.

Yeah, maybe drop another 5g's into the car, that way at the end of the lease you will for sure buy it out (more $$ for the dealer than a straight purchase) or they can hit you for fees because you modified it and then they can sell it for more than it would have.

The dealership is a business. They make money. They are not your friend unless it will help them in the future.

Removing the door protectors will probably result in more door-dings. I guarantee that the dealer will say it is beyond normal wear and tear because you removed the protectors.

But it is your rental car (lease), go ahead and take your chances if you like. It's only money...

You can think whatever you want about the dealers, i plan on buying out my car, but if i wasnt and i have done all these, value increasing mods, my dealer will actully pay you above the inital buy out value to match the actull value of the car. My dads friend knows the owner of the dealership i bought my car and all my questions have gone directly to him.

Just seems weird when you say "value increasing mods", no aftemarket part will be "valuable" to near 95% of dealers, only OEM parts. And even then, generally they only include parts that came on you particular car factory. Please enlighten me on these value increasing mods so I can trade my car in for more than it's worth stock

last time I was at the dealership none of the 06 base models had the strips on the doors. None of them, it was kind of confusing because my aunt was shopping for her car and all of the 06's said LS when they were base. I learned to look for the gm badge and check rims and the lack of strips to tell what I was looking at. So the dealer wouldnt even notice in 5 years if they are dropping the strips from the base models......... By the way I ripped mine off of my coupe a couple weeks ago. Looks far better without, I have pics in gallery and on cardomain, check it out for yourself

It looks better off, then again it doesn't look bad with them on. At least they will keep your door from getting dinged in parking lots!!!

Well they are practical and they do look better on the four door, if it were a coupe it say "off with their heads" but keep em on yours.
