i have seen some cobalts with a color matched lower grill set. does that come factory, or did they have it painted?



see in this pic they are matched. mine are just black. is it because i have fog lights?

 

There are two packages that you can buy the a cobalt. 1 is just the spoiler and bigger wheels, but a matching color bumber. The 2nd package, which you bought, gives you everything plus the fog lights, which would change it to black

 

Mine is the same way.. I'd like to get some red ones.. I wonder if somebody could just sand and paint the black ones.

 

Pretty sure the 1 color bumpers are just molded that way , hence all the lower portions are body color and the grills are not removeable . To where as the fog light bumper , the lower grills are black removeable inserts.

 

i thought the same thing you were all thinking, but i have seen different color cobalts with black lower grills W/O the foglights... not just a couple, a bunch. so who knows

 

The base model cobalts have the molded in body color grille, non removeable. The LS, LT, and I believe the SS/SC have the removeable black inserts.

 

why would they give the base the nice same color inserts, and us ls lt and ss owners, these shitty removable ones? i dont get GM sometimes

Close. The SS has a completely different from facia part, no inserts. The rest of what you said is correct.
