YAY! 10k HIDs on the way!!!

i just ordered a set of 10k HIDS from visionbulbs. i cant wait
im tired of my **** bulbs that keep burning out every month and a half. and the fake blue tint that they put over the bulbs

i'll post pics when i get it done
im installing them on my projectors

Sorry... anything over 6000K isn't going to get you any better light output.

Pretty much anything over 6000k is useless for function unless it's a show car. Good luck with visibility.

not really, there just rice looking BLUE lights, u might even get pulled over for them. 6k is perfect brights ass white, the cutoff line is what flashes purple sometimes no matter what temp HIDS u get

well i wanted a nice shade of blue and the improved visability over stock lights.

maybe i'll call vision first thing in the morning and change my order to an 8k kit instead.

they looks good, but they definatly have color, they make bmw headlights look yellow when you compare the two on the ground. i liked mine, but now i have projectors so i have 4800k with a modded blue/purple cut off, so the light still looks blue at some angles

lets just back it down a touch, no need to get to growly

even though high kelvin ratings are kinda silly, considering the point of HID is better lighting....

a QUALITY 10k bulb CAN actually produce more lumens than a cheap OEM halogen.
but a silverstar or decent aftermarket bulb will outperform them.
a cheapo 10k? yeah forget it.

your basically spending $200+ for color....which could have been done far cheaper.
8k bulbs generally have about 1.5 to 2 times the lumens output of an OEM halogen.
a set of 4.3k? about 3200lumens. more than 3 times a standard halogen.

Should I go with 6k or 8k an0malous? I kinda want a bluish tinge to the HID though I still want better light output than halogens.

6K is straight white. I got a set of 6K from vision bulbs and they are pure white. If you want some blue you would want to go with an 8K.

6 is like an arctic white. its very very pristine white.
and it has excellent lighting. IMO equal to the 4.3ks i tried out. (thats only opinion though)
BUT i find theres a very very subtle hint of blue in it.

if you can find it....youd probably love 7k

my 6k's have the slightest hint of blue, and if im not mistaken the color temp of HID's actually goes up as they get older.
