2009 Track Days Invitation

2009 MVP Track Time Schedule

Hi All:

MVP Track Time (www.MVPTrackTime.com) is very excited to announce our expanded track day schedule for the 2009 track season.

After several years of successful events on the Midwest’s premier tracks, we are looking East at some of North America’s most historic tracks. The “Big 5” (Road America, Laguna Seca, Road Atlanta, Watkins Glen and Mid-Ohio) have always been on MVP’s radar. Adding Watkins Glen and Road Atlanta for 2009 gets us 2/5 way there. If/when we find partners out West, Laguna Seca will become a reality and IF (notice BIG if) we can secure a workable date at Road America and Mid Ohio we will complete the “Big 5” circle.

As many are feeling the effects of the economic downturn, MVP is attempting to keep pricing the same as 2008. With all the economic bad news, I hope this reaches you as some good news. We aim to bring the best track value to you. Below you will find our tentative 2009 schedule, subject to revision as necessary.

April 18-19: Putnam Park ”Tax Freedom Track Weekend” - SOLD OUT!

June 1: Autobahn Country Club (FULL 3.56 mile track) - SOLD OUT!

August 3: Autobahn Country Club II (FULL 3.56 mile track) - SOLD OUT!

September 5-6: Blackhawk Farms ”No Hurricane Rain Track Weekend” - PERFECT WEEKEND!

October 31 – November 1: Watkins Glen ”Halloween Fright FAST!”

November 21 -22: Road Atlanta "Flyin Turkey Trot"

Now that Spring has arrived, I hope you’ll gear up for some much needed fresh air and join MVP Track Time at the track.

Happy Motoring and I hope to see you at the track in 2009!

Will you be running the full course at The Glen, or the "nascar" course??

I need a track day at NJMP

I think most HPDE clubs use the full course with the boot. Planning to visit NJMP or Mid Ohio, but those are 6+ hours driving from where I live so I will have to see.

I work 5 minutes from NJMP!

I am probably 4.5 hours from The Glen, I am not sure, because Ive never driven their in anything other than torrential rain, so it usually takes about 5.5-60 hours

Man! I am so jealous, 5 mins from NJMP! wow!

LRP is the closest to where I live and thats a 80 mile drive, which I would consider close. WGI is 2.5 hours driving for me.

So I went to the website and I was trying to find out, but can you just register and bring your streetcar and just drive without anything else, besides a helmet of course?

MVP (and most clubs) only allows "SA" rated helmets, so if you have a "M" rated motorcycle helmet you won't be able to use it.

Your car will need to past tech inspection. For more info, check out their tech section. Generally, you need to have at least 50% pad and thread left and car must be in good condition, both mechanical and body. If you are a novice you must be on track with a instructor, therefore your passenger seat must have the same seat and seatbelt/harness as the drivers seat.

Have fun.

A 3 hour drive to a circuit would be considered short. Where I am at, we are blessed with a very short 1hr drive to LRP and 2.5+ to WGI. People from our local forum frequently trailer their cars 10 hours to MO and 6+ to Bogie in Canada.

Sometime you just have to travel to get to the good circuits. It's all fun!

Little higher price, less people, more track time. We only have three run groups so everyone gets at least six, 20-minute run sessions per day.

Hey guys, anyone live near Watkins Glen and know what the weather is like that time of year. I'm thinking about heading out there for the event. It's a pretty far drive for me, but I really want to take my car to a road course before I garage it for the winter. Also, I'm running my car with stock Conti's, they have about 90% tread left all around. Are the colder ambient temps going to be a problem for the tires, or will they be okay once they warm up and ther's some rubber on the track? Thanks.
