3 wheelin official?
I was at a smaller local event here where I use my street tires and a friend managed to get a shot of this.
http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...ke/3wheels.jpg I thought it was neat, and people are always shocked with the times the cobalt runs... good showing for the car :) |
nice haha.
|
lol nice. way to push it through the corners :)
|
wouldn't r-comps make this even worse? looks like its time to adjust your suspension to get that wheel down and keep it getting grip. Definitely looks cool though

the car is stock so no real adjusting I can go. R comps would make that worse, but the inside rear tire doesnt do a lot on a front wheel drive car... well compared to the other 3.

Well im racing the car in D Stock so I have to keep it stock for the most part. Cant do a rear sway bar but I can do a front, dont think I will tho cause I like the cobalt in its stock form, and I dont need it to push or understeer anymore than it already does by putting a front on lol. I had my 07 STI specd out for an autoX class and that this was on a rail :)
|
alright yeah if your trying to keep in stock class then its just gonna be how it is which isnt bad at all. What setup did you have on your sti? I have an 05 right now that I am gonna be working on the suspension next
|
Inside rear on a FWD car doesn't need to be on the ground while cornering hard. VW and Honda learned this a long time ago. Honestly, most of the time you can't even tell when you're driving. You might get a little puff of smoke if the wheel stopped spinning, when it comes back in touch with the ground, but usually it's a non-event.
Looks great for spectators though :) |

nice car. with my engine mods I can run whatever I want pretty much since I am in SM. I just ned to decided what I want to run.
|
wow, great picture!!
|
IIRC you can run some mods and still stay in D-stock, depending on how many points it adds. The 'balt definitely does well in D-stock, but if you could stay in D-stock and put some pedders springs on there you would be golden. You'd easily shave a couple seconds off your times for most 40ish second courses.
Either way, sweet pic! Edit: NM, you wouldn't stay in stock class, you'd have to move to street tire to be most competitive. Well, at least you could get some better tires than the stock conti's that would help a bit. The r-comps would let you push it a bit harder, which would make the rear tire lift a bit more but would def give you better times. |
Yeah I'm pretty content running the cobalt stock until I sell it to et another s2000 and build that for STR :)
Btw nice pick, packers FTW :) |
Thanks man, I noticed you were up in Madison. I'm down in AZ now but I was born in Green Bay and lived in Milwaukee too for a bit.
