Thumbs up Drifting the Cobalt...

justSo I just finished my vinyl application tonight and we decided to head out to an "underground" drifting contest. It was 4 of us total - A 93 Civic with exhaust, 89 accord with intake/exhause, and a 96 neon with wing/exhaust/repainted lime green (we actually painted this one ourselves with spray paint ^ ^) and my car.

So we got out into an undisclosed location (I had to let another guy drive while I was blind folded) and when we stopped it was a beatiful roadcourse set up. They actually had real road cones to use as markers for the course.

My first run was really good. It is really hard to drift in the Cobalt, but I found if you pull up on the emergency brake while turning into the corner, you can actually slide around it pretty well. Our judge was pretty good at drift racing RC cars, so he knew how to judge style points. We tried going 2 at a time, but the neon and civic slammed into each other pretty hard so we decided just one at a time after that.

I was the winner! My cobalt got 201 points compared to 198, 194, and 6. The neon only got 6 because he is of course RWD which is pretty much cheating in street drifting.

So anyone interested in coming out next week just let me know!joshin you guys

you are gonna get a shaking on your car now when ur going down the highway, go get some new tires. if i wanna "drift" i take my POS Elantra out on the GRAVEL roads and ebrake turns, then i dont mess up tires. I dont have a cobalt yet, but i deffinatly wouldnt drift with one, and as i thought neons are FWD, not RWD, unless he shelled out major bucks for a conversion kit

Yes I did atleast, hence the waste of time. People shouldn't spam these forums with useless garbage.

If it is garbage then don't read it. Hence the forum title being garbage in itself. And it's funny how you post this is garbage but in the "What did you have for..." and "What do you like more ..." threads I am sure you post away...

I actually think those threads are a waste too, people can't make up their dam minds for themselves. I wasn't personally attacking you, just saying the this type of thread is dumb, so chill and be happy
