I almost got protested this weekend.
I almost got protested this weekend.
A Little Backround info: 2010 Cobalt SS
So this last weekend was a smaller club autoX at the normal SCCA spot up here in Wisconsin, Miller Park. I run with the SCCA everyweekend here so I know what the cobalt can do with this open area. This club has the same class setup at SCCA but when they race there is no Pax index racing, so it all on what you run as a raw time and they use a points system for mods. All I have done right now is rear shocks so for this club i am within stock class Dstock, tires dont cound unless they are Rcomps. Right now i am on 235-40-18 Dunlop Z1 Star Specs.
I have been using the rest of this season to learn the cobalt and get some info for rcomps and nationals next year, by then I will be on V710s.
The Track was quite wide open, very good for some high HP cars and a 3rd grear section, tho i never went into 3rd cause it wasnt worth the small ammount of gain.
I ended up at the end of the day running a 60.5 1st in class beating my friend in his Lagact GT by 1.9 seconds, never beaten him by that much cause he is a very good driver for the car that he has. 3rd was 2.4 seconds back so on so on. Average time on the track was about a 62.xxx to 63.xxx.
My friend in the Subaru wasnt the one who was going to protest me, till now i dont know who was going to cause they said
I finished 5th over all out of about 80 cars losing to an SM evo by 2.xxseconds and i was the fastest Stock class car out there beating a BS S2000 by a little over one second.
The reason for the possibel protes was the person thought the knob on the LCD screen would turn up the boost to create more power :P
overall it was an awesome weekend and kinda wish i would have been protested to prove the car was stock
Just thought it was interesting and to show people what the cobalt can do

haha. That's great. I've had STI and Vette guys call BS on me at track days when they run over after a session and I pop the hood. "Stock? oh bullsh!t" and walk away. I love it.
I'm waiting for the results to be posted so i can put them up. Sadly no video of the event cause my girlfriend was with me on every run. goda make something so i can put the camera ring in the middle

That's great! I love the expression on peoples faces when they see the SS/TC in action, it is the fastest FWD after all.
