MFBA Road America HPDE Invite, April 28-29 2012

The MFBA Road America Spring Rental dates have been set!

We'll be renting the track out the weekend of April 28'th and 29'th, 2012.

Full details and registration is available via our website:
MFBA Track Days

All Make and Model Cars are Welcome to come out and Participate in this event!!

We have 4 run groups based on experience that get 4-5 20 min sessions
out on track each day. You will have a LOT of track time! Most people
are exhausted by the end of the day.

Instructors are available free of charge for people who would like
them, and anyone who has not been on Road America will automatically
have an instructor assigned to them.

We also offer a lunch time touring session for those that just want to
get a chance to go out on the track at slower speeds.

Pricing..........................................W eekend..............Single Day
Now till Feb 14th............................$395.............. .......$235
Feb 14th to Apr 13th......................$445.................... ..$255
Apr 13th to day of Event.................$495.....................$27 5
Touring Session........................................... ..............$60
Spectators........................................ ........................$5

Many of you noticed that we pushed last years event pretty hard to
make it a success. We do plan to push this event even harder. We
anticipate that some run groups will fill up early so we strongly
encourage per-registration.

Thanks and we hope to see you in the spring!

- MFBA

Nope, never done one before.

I bet you're thinking of Tyler. Our cars are pretty similar. Except I have pink bowties on mine.

From our FAQ page;

Q. What age can participate in the event?
A. All drivers must be at least 18 years of age and all passengers must be at least 16 years of age.

It's a matter of the track event's insurance.

Skip Barber eh? Was it very helpful to you? Would you describe it as worth every penny? I want to improve my skills.

I can guarantee you will learn a lot @ our event. We have numerous instructors, all talented available for ALL sessions if need be.
They have headset communications, know racing & this track.
This is provided @ no charge for a registered driver.

We made the event more friendly for those new to road racing/HPDE's.
We run 4 different groups. So there will be less cars on track per session.
It is a blast to run this track, really fun event hope to see you up there.

If you have never done a HPDE especially on RA I would highly recommend going to class D. In class D they have you go to a class inbetween your sessions and they teach you the best way lines (dry/wet) along with other valuable car control techniques.

I have been to a few HPDE's and you guys definately put on a good track day. This is the best track day event for first timers.

Good advice, Graeme is the group D lead instructor, who holds the after session "download". It's just to get those used to road racing. Valuable to pose any thoughts, feedback or questions when it's still fresh in your mind post session.

Thank you for the kind words.
The event organizers & the instruction staff are striving to achieve this.

So how does the touring session work? Do we need a helmet for that as well? Do they rent helmets?

No helmets required.
It is paced @ around 70 MPH or so.
The corners you can take as hard as a normal session.

Another thing to consider about our event.
We have 4 run groups for the regular hot sessions.
That equates out to less cars on track per session.

I think that is an important factor.
I hate HPDE's with the train going around the track, or getting run over with faster cars.
40 + cars out in a group sure puts a damper on the fun factor IMO.
