Race Tracks?
Race Tracks?
Is there a list of race tracks anywhere?
I tried google but it brings up all kinda crazy ****,
like 1/4 mile tracks. A 1/4 mile track is like the one
that goes arround your football field at school. (Not dragstrip)
Id like to go to a track and open it up sometime.
Id really like to see if I can hit my top speed, and
find out what it is. Ive heard some people say its
anywhere from 143 - 165 mph.
I'm not going to do that on the street because I'm no
out of my mind. I'm also older then 25, so I'm no longer
invincible.

hmm i dono about a list, im sure there has to be one somewhere.
I dont think you will hit your top speed on any tracks in the U.S. Maybe if you went to the salt flats or something.

1: Salt corrosive to your vehical, so you have to wish it right away when your done
and the other 4000 are feet in elevation, robing your car of air...
But at the same time, takeing away drag
I wonder would that makeyour car go faster, because of less drag? or Slower because of less air?
Did some looking
Not sure if a Cobalt SS could meet the inspection requirments for the Bonneville Salt Flats Racetrack.

besides the salt flats, there's the "texas mile." There are 1/4 mile circle tracks but you just got to find them. There is Barber Motorsports park in Birmingham that looks to have a pretty long front straight.

One of the longest race tracks Ive found is about 12 miles long. But its up hill almost ALL the way, and has hairpin turns, and mostly is dirt. Pikes Peak Raceway. Ive seen times of like six minutes on that thing. Damn! Id LOVE to climb pikes peak with my car someday, but I shure as hell am not going to RACE it.

Ya, I just double checked, last years times, none of them were LESS then the 10 minute mark. I don't know why I thought six minutes...
Your gonna get way more of a thrill hitting an apex at 100 than holding your foot down and driving straight. Plus, your never gonna find a place to top your car out legally without major mods (cage, fire suit, seat, harness etc...)
