rim question

ive searched cant find but will a 225/40/18 race tire fit on an 18x8 rim?
and two will it rub at all?

because the tires are for me to autocross with i just am confused with sizing
i need a race tire that will fit an 18x8 rim and not rub fender well

Will it rub? Well are you lowered? If so how much?

I would have to guess NOT likely unless you are on coilovers dropped about as low as possible!

I run both 245/35/18s and 245/40/18s, both on stock rims. The 35s don't rub at all on the fender, the fender liner or the strut. The 40s sometimes rub the strut in very hard corners.

Many folks run 255s, but those require a spacer to avoid rubbing the strut.

All the above info is for stock springs.
