What SCCA class to run if I want to run other events?
Whitnith: very awesome!
Tracks:
Roabling Road, GA
Road Atlanta, GA
VIR, VA
Barber Motorsports Park, AL
Carolina Motorsports Park, SC
Those are all that comes to mind offhand. I <3 trackdays, its just been cheaper for me to AutoX the last 2 years. Need to get a set of Hankook RS2 or RS3's for track use......
As for my car... some of Phoenix is declassified, hahaha
Suspension wise:
Custom built D2 Racing Coilovers, with 12K springs up front, and 10K springs in the back.
No Front Sway Bar or Endlinks
Rack Spacers ( For what its worth, they are there, haha)
1" TTR Rear Sway Bar
All the camber my coilovers adjustment plates will give me
Powell Aluminum lower control arms with Delrin and Spherical bushings
ATE Type 200 Fluid, Stainless brake lines, Napa Ultra Premium Drums, Front Disks, Hawk HPS pads
I think thats it suspension wise on the car... The motor is classified, haha.

Yup. Haha. I blew the front struts out on less spring. When D2 built me the custom front struts I went to a stiffer spring as well. Wound up setting the car up like my roommates killer Honda - because it works so well. It has crazy amounts of rotation. I really need to get a diff in the car......
Why the hell is a Cavalier in ESP?
Don't want to thread jack but I was wondering if you could help me on what class I would be in. I'm just getting back into some autocross. Pretty at my first autocross they had me in the wrong class. Here's the setup:
09 SS
ZZP intake tube with stock box and K&N drop in
3 in Downpipe w/ stock exhaust
Trifecta Budget Tune
Pedders XA Coilovers
Progress sway bar
Enkei PF01's 8in with 235/40/18 GT Radial Champiro UHP Tires
Centric Rotors w/Power Slot Evolution Pads.Front Stock Rear
On the way to the event my friends car broke so they allowed us to enter my car. Pretty sure they just threw us into a class but it was my first time autoX'ing in 7 years so I wasn't worried about winning. We had a blast and I can't wait to get back into this on a more regular basis next year. I do like road courses more but dodging cones is a fun time too.
I will have a video of my run up later this week... Thanks in advance for any insight..

I was looking at a layout of the classes and based on this PDF I found I can run in Street Prepared or SMF. Here is the page... Does that sound right to you seasoned AutoX'ers? Might be doing another event this Sunday and want to register.

Those of us with LSJs get dinged when we pulley down, since that is changing the blower. I haven't fully studied the class rules once I found out I'm stuck in SMF.
Haha, this. SMF isn't worth it unless you have slicks, but it's fun if you find other Deltas to run. Once we were the only 3 people in SMF, which was nice.
Everywhere Ive gone, if your not on Slicks in SMF your out to lunch.
I will be curious, and i hope there is a good SMF car pool in cali when I get there (and can afford more tires)

They put me in FSP,
Base model with intake, 2.4 intake manifold, longtube header, lsj cat back, lsj front brakes, poly trans mounts, lsj control arms and ebiach sportlines. I really need to learn how to drive better. Only did a couple events and it seems the other guys in my class are usually a MK2 gti and a mk2 Jetta coupe. Both are consistently a 2 seconds faster.

This is where we need some more turbo guys to chime in. Based on that, it does seem you can run in Street Prep since you haven't changed the turbo at all. Tuning is allowed, based on the "Changed ECU Software, Chip or VTEC Controller?" and "Changed Boost Controls or Levels?" questions.
