RETROFIT Install questions and support!

Ok guys,

We still have some time before these are shipped, since the order was just placed this weekend.

I've noticed some discussion already about how people are going to wire them and people looking for a little assistance.

PLEASE use this thread to share your help and ideas. As a group I'm sure we can all make this very easy on each other, and it should keep Mike and my PM boxes from getting filled up too!

Thanks!

Great idea. I'm sure someone will post a "how-to" once they get them as well.

what's the best way to run wires from the inside of the car to the engine bay??

i've been trying to figure this out for something else but would come in handy to wire the halos to a switch also...

mkulrey13 08-30-2010 03:18 PM

You can wire the halos directly to your headlights harness VIA sidemarker light. This means when you turn your fogs on, the halos will be on as well. But to run wires inside the cabin, behind the motor on the right side is a plug that comes out just behind the pedals inside.

Yea I would like to know the options for the halos as far as wiring them up. Can they be wired to the turn signals because they are always on. And does anyone know how to wire the fogs up so they come on automatically?

Halos can be connected to any 12v switched source. I advise to not use your blinkers as they will burn out the CCFL and we will not cover it. Read my post above yours it will answer your question :) As for the foglights, we do sell a harness that wires them directly to your fusebox so no button is required. When the car turns on they turn on :)

how can I wire it up so that my highs & fogs can be on at the same time??

Jrhdpaintball 08-30-2010 05:53 PM

good idea on the thread... cant wait to get these

Yes. We are closed for new orders for a short period of time while we upgrade the website and our e-commerce system. Paypal has not proven to be reliable enough.

Sorry for any inconvenience! We promise the wait will be worth it. We're already thinking about our next GB.

gCobalt05 08-30-2010 11:34 PM

any discounts for the wait? because I would love to make my payment now! :)

estimated time of waiting?

I did melt mine before, this was only because I left them in the oven overnight. It is very hard for them to completely melt in the oven. I think the "How-to" for opening them up, says about 30 minutes at 150 degrees. If you in a hurry, I bumped it to 250 and only took 10-15 minutes.

As for a hair dryer, alot of people say they have used it and it worked for them. When I tried the silicone from where I first started would harden back up before I made it all the way around.

Other option is a heat gun.

mkulrey13 08-31-2010 02:29 AM

Guys..you cannot melt headlights in the oven if there on a cookie sheet. The Instructions that come with your kits will tell you to do 225 for 10 mins on a cookie sheet.

mkulrey13 08-31-2010 02:56 AM

@JOSH
