Cancelling My SS/SC order :bye:

This may be a little long so take 5min away from your day thanks. Alright i ordered my Cobalt SS/SC on Dec 7/05, Rally Yellow with just a sunroof. I found out today its going to take about 6-7months before i receive it, this just will not work for me because i was really hoping to recieve the car in and around March. So i went down to the biggest dealership in Western Canada in Calgary, its called CMP to go find out a little bit more information. I was actually talking to a dealership guy who ownes a Red SS/SC and he said he would not have to build the car for me he could ship it from anywhere in Canada because they are the biggest dealer and other dealerships would listen to them, he was mentioning something about a Push and Pull method or something, because they have 2 Cobalts SS/SC on the way to that dealer but he said if one of them did not have the correct specifications that i wanted he could order it and trade it for my Rally Yellow with the sunroof no problems and he even looked into his computer to find one. So tomorrow me and my mom are going to head to our dealer where i ordered the car from and try to sweet talk them into giving me my 1000$ deposit back because they have not yet started production of the car or even actually ordered it because i have still not recieved a phone call from GM. So hopefully i will be able to get my 1000$ deposit back and put it into the car i could get through this guy at CMP, the Dealership guy also said that when i want to pick the car up which is in March, he said they would be able to hold it on the lot aslong as i have the deposit down and nobody would be alowwed to drive it or even look inside it. So im hoping tomorrow goes well and i can get my money back because i really do not want to wait 6-7 months Wish me luck

Ps: sorry for such a long story, but im just warning anyone in the regions of Calgary and such to not factory order the car head down to CMP, and just pm if u want the guys name and number.
Andrew

6-7 months.. that sux. it is going to cost you the thousand to go to the other dealer. if they don't want to give it back.. make the new dealer deal with them. if they are as big as you say they may be able to get your money.

or the new dealer is trying to grt your thousand and make you wait 6-7 months forthe same car.

There is no way they can keep your deposit, don't even tell them you are going somewhere else, just tell them to cancel your order and give you your money back. There is no such thing as a non-refundable deposit if the product doesn't exist.

Why not just get a SS 2.4 with a 5 speed? I know it's not a S/C but it's cheaper, and there are probably plenty of them to go around.

Says who? I have dealt with this before, they CANNOT legally keep your deposit. If the dealership trys to keep it, go and get any half decent attorney they will be able to get your money back.

Screw ordering there's tons of SS/SC cobalts sitting on lots, my local dealer has 3 including sunburst orange and yellow. Look around you shouldn't have to wait that long.

Well the update to yesterday is now in, I have really good news. Alright me and my mom went down to our dealership guy who ordered the Car through the sister Chevy Dealership, Because the guy we have been going through for like 7 years but he works at a Pontiac Dealership but they have a Sister dealership which is chevy , so he ordered the car through them.. yada yada, well anyway they have finally tracked it down and no parts have even been setup on the production line so a new game plan is going to be put in place. He looked in the computer and the sister dealership that he goes through has 3 Cobalt SS/SC on lot which are not sold, in other words they are going to be able to trade one of those off to a different dealership that has my car with the exact same specs, in other words i get my car quicker and still with my specifications, he also said if i want to Cancel the order i get my 1000$deposit back no questions asked and i could order the Pontiac Pursuit GT, which has the exact same things as the Cobalt SS/NA, for a very good price but im going to keep my order on a go and hopefully they find a very nice dealership that is willing to trade cars , good luck to me haha, my dealer said we will have the gameplan fully setup before Monday

I waited almost seven months to get mine. Ordered it in September, and I am taking delivery on Tuesday. Besides not yet driving it, it looks like it will be well worth the wait. The 2.4 SS was sweet, so I am hoping the SS/SC will be an even better ride!

Now I hope GM doesn't screw all us SS/SC owners up by putting in the 2.0L turbo after waiting for half the model year to elapse! Don't think they will though. I'd hate to be like all the 2001 Z06 owners who got ripped off by 20 HP!
