Well me and a few buddies went to St. Thomas dragway today and it was entertaining to say the least. My first run was against my buddy in his 05 Mustang GT (first stick) and did what I set out to do, I ran a 14.8 97 mph to his 14.9. Once I figure out the launch and get a nice cool day, low 14's here I come!The announcer was on the PA saying "Ohhhhhhh that's gotta hurt"! The day was nice but track temps were 39 degrees so it was hot. That unfortunately was my best time of the day. All my buddies were running .3 - .4 secs slower than the last day so I guess 14.5 is very possible if not faster. The track was really well prepped and lotsa grip off the line. A subaru STI with intake, full turbo exhaust and tuning was turning 13.9 consistently and had a best of 13.5. The fun was on the way home as an 05' RSX type S was harrassing the **** outta me so finally I gave in. I gave him the punch in third and reeled him in so fast that my buddies were trying to call me on my cell to give props. Fuggin' import punk will think again before ******* with an SS again LOL! Basically you all missed a hell of a day and that 05 Maxima will never forget the the ass-**** in third gear that he was getting from me. Tell y'all about it at the next meet with vids too

 

Sounds like a great day, wish I could have come, but I'll definetly be there for the track on the 19th

an sti running 13.9's consistantly with mods?.. you are blind or he fooled your ass.. STis run 13.1's stock.. it was def a pimped WRX... nice numbers though.. what was your 60' ?

 

You seem to forget that the only way the STi runs a 13.1 is with a very aggressive launch. We're talking like a 4000-5000RPM clutch drop. Thats all well and good, but for most people, its just not worth it to fry their clutch and risking breaking something just to get the best possible time

 

13.1 stock? Not from what I saw bud. I know that STI's got ***** but 13.1, I don't think so. Do you think he was fooling me when right before he ran his 13.5 he emptied a bag of ice on the turbo? I know my cars bud and this was an STI, gold wheels and brembo calipers give it away. I asked the guy if that was his fastest time and his reply was "I ran a 13.1 fastest, but launched it harder". That's exactly as wesman says it's not worth frying the clutch ar fubaring the trans to get a lil quicker.

 

Way to go buddy. Call me next time and I'll see if I can get the SOCC together for a meet at this strip. L8R!!!
