Drag Racing Oct 15

A bunch of us are heading to St Thomas dragway this Saturday night for the test and tune. It is 6-10pm, $20 to race and $10 to spectate.

There will be a 480HP now turbo'ed Grand Prix GTP there, 2 Grand ams tha run 13.99-14.19, a couple of Grand Am QUAD 4's, and of course my cobalt SS 2.4.

I am aiming for 14's this weekend since I hit 15.22 when the car was barely broken in (3000KM) and I only got 2 runs in before my clutch stopped working.

The clutch is all good to go, the car will be around 6000KM by then, and I will have more time to practice my launches and get my 60's lower then a 2.38.

Permafried, NO EXCUSES! come race the beast!

I've got some plans on Saturday afternoon/evening I'll have to work out to move them to Sunday but this hopefully shouldn't be a problem . I'll let you know tomorrow or Friday whether or not I can make it...I'll head over to Grands and sign-up there and by the sounds of it quite a few of you are making the trip down...really hoping the weather holds out. I'm sure Scott would be up for comin again cause he had a good time at the last one as well as the TO meet...at this rate that kid won't be driving a Honda much longer .

As for racing it...I think I've gotten better at launching the car in the past few weeks. I don't turn heads anymore when I try it during everyday driving so I must be doing something right and the engine is well past the break-in period now. Assuming I work up the gutts to make an ass of myself maybe I'll run it a couple times just to see how I do ! Still can't get my buddy to bring his siR out though...I might have to tow his car out just to get him to come.

Glad to hear your clutch is fixed as well...did it just work itself out or did someone actually find what the problem was and fix it?

My CAI intake should be here Friday so it is a strong possibility that I will go. If I can't make it I will be at Cayuga next weekend for sure!!!

I have to QUAD's challenging me to a race....no seriously, their QUAD 4's. my two buddies have them both moddified to different degrees.

I hope a SS-SC comes, I want to see at exactly what point at the track they pull away from me.....is it the start, half way, the final third?
