I agree. A good friend of mine is a mechanic for GM experimental for 25 years. They worked on a Cobalt in 05. He said they do not need an alignment after installing the springs.

Oh geez. YES THEY DO!

The Delta platform struts have no adjustability stock. You can't change the camber or castor. You CAN and DO have to change the toe setting, which is done with the steering tie rod ends.

the directions say you need an alignment, just like when installing an intake you have to take the whole bumper off

I droped mine and Devons cars the same day. I marked everything and put it back together useing the marks I made. Cars don't pull, tires seem fine, he got his checked and it was dead on.

If yyou want to get one go ahead, you can't be too careful. But from my experence its not nessacary. I KNOW the instructions say to but thats the safe side I just mentioned.

Okay, can you install spring and not get an alignment and be okay? You might get lucky and be okay. You won't know if you are NOT okay until your tires start wearing out prematurely.

Follow the directions, pay the simple 50 bucks, and do it right.

I was wondering about this. PpAzZ1101 and I put a set of sportlines on his 2.4 this weekend and we couldn't find any adjustable bolts. Guess that answers my question.

Having lowered more cavaliers than I can count, (I know it ain't a 'balt) it's hit or miss with an alignment. If you have a good installer like "Jackalope" here, it can be done and be darn near perfect....however. I had lowered/unlowered my own '99 Z a few times, and for some random reason the last time I did ( I marked everything) I did not align it, and after about a month on my 17's I came to find the Toe-in was so out of whack the car was all over the road and the fronts were utterly bald. That was an expensive lesson.
For the cash, just get it done.

I paid for an allignment 2 weeks after I had the springs put on. The toe was out slightly. Nothing major though. I'm still glad I did it regardless of what anyone says. DO IT! It's such a cheap and small thing to do that could save hundreds of dollars in the end it's almost a crime not to do it!
