Anyway tires are starting to come apart. But sent a text to the seller and he refunded me all the money plus some to cover the transfer fee.

Now to order brakes. Called Max Brakes and can get front rotors and pads for $120 shipped. How do you like yours?
Probably haha when was this? Yes I know about The smoke, it's gray, I'm having an oil burning issue I'm hunting down. Thinking it may be valve seals. Car smokes coming out of boost into vacuum, smokes when I take off oil cap, or when I blow into pcv fresh air hose. If anyone has an idea what that would be let me know. Valve seals probably. If it was last Saturday or Friday though that could have been when I seafoamed and was clearing it out of the engine, crazy amount of smoke

So ya, what would cause me to burn oil when I take oil cap off? Lots of air coming out the oil cap, also when I lightly blow into pcv fresh air hose on intake. Weird .

Yesterday around 5.

Seemed to be worse while cruising. Went away under boost.

Was that u wingless?

So it does smoke while cruising. Interesting. Yup something is definitely wrong in that motor. That helps me Narrow it down. I'm thinking something is causing either crank case pressure or my valve seals are just done. Leak down and compression tests passed so that seems to be all that's left. Turbo seems ok but maybe not, I'll have to check it out I guess.

It was probably smoking while cruising because I wasnt into boost on the 12. I want paying attention but usually it doesn't. After I come out of boost into vacuum it starts burning the oil.

Ya that was me. My tires are coming apart so I'd get a huge vibration from 90km/h. Ya any time you were off boost there was a steady cloud.

Just ordered rotors and pads. Went with the uncoated blanks. The rest would take a week. Didn't really want drilled rotors anyway.

I wonder if I didn't damage my motor when my 3rd gear went and I hit rev limit hard. All these weird issues started then. I think it's time for ldk swap and rebuild the lnf as a spare or sell it

Highly doubtful. If it passed a leak down test the motor is fine.

If it passed a leak down the block, pistons and valves are all good.

It's something I would have to see. Sounds very strange.

So I think I'm gonna be the test pilot and try those Nankang NS-2R tires. I want the 120 tire wear ones which they are currently out of stock at Canada Wheel. I just emailed them 9 at night and got an email back 5 min later! Thought that was impressive. They will be in stock May 30th.

Leak down wouldn't test the valve seals though. They are outside combustion chamber. But still super strange.

You don't need an ldk motor because the valve seals are leaking..... That's what I was referring to.

oh ya I know that. I'm just a little afraid of the gen 2 block, which I have. with my luck lately, I replace the seals or head, and my block goes bad. lol I just need to know what the issue is for sure, I don't want to buy parts that wont solve it. its so frustrating. not one issue on google of someones car starting to smoke when oil cap is taken off. such grrr.

I'm gonna stop by a good shop tomorrow and ask if they know, since zzp doesn't email back ever.

do you know where exactly the pcv passage in the intake manifold to head goes in the motor? does it just go under the valve cover?

Not sure exactly what you mean. Where does the PVC port actually go? It just sucks in oil/fuel gasses back into the mani to be reburnt.

Ya but from where? Cause every time I take off my mani there is a lot of oil in that passage

It's pulling it from the crankcase, through the biscuit separators in the valve cover and to the port.

Maybe I should check to see if that port isn't plugged. Anyway I may just end up buying another car, need a second one anyway for times like this, and then park the Balt and tear the motor apart or the head at least and build it or just fix it. At least I can do it at relaxed pace then instead of worry about getting it on the road asap
