Manitoba SS's 2008
You got me thinking Wes.. I haven't seen to many ss/sc's go down to 17" rim but now that I think about it that makes more sense for drag purposes. I'd love to run that tire size you mentioned but they wouldn't fit on the stock 17" ss/na rims right? They would be way too wide I think? (I'm guessing the ss/na is 7" wide like our ss/sc wheels)
I would need a 7.5 or 8" wide rim from what I can gather from searching, and then the tire itself would even be cheaper then the original ones i was looking at.
Falken Azenis rt-615
245/45R-17 99W XL B $125.00
vs
225/45R-18 91W BLK $170.00

and then when i have enough money i can buy a nice set of 17x8 rims
OR.... I can try my winter tires at the track, they have a softer compound I think then the pirellies, and more sidewall

It says 7.5" but I was willing to try. I heard that the cobalt 17' rims actually measured 7.5" but I didnt care.
I just liked the look of the pursiut rims that is all.

New topic. - I am telling this story out interest and that it may help you avoid the same problem.
I recieved a call from the father of the kid that bought my car. He told me that the dealer was not going to warranty any engine work as there was no service records for oil changes. I was like stumped on that one. then he told me that there was something wrong with the motor as it was making internal noises. I wasnt liking the sound of what was going on. he was nice and all but he had me thinking. thing is he bought it from Vickar's not me. so I am not really worried. dealer has more to worry about than me I think. I honestly cannot believe it though. car was perfect when they took it and I actually gave up on trying to sell.
So what did I do - the dealer main issue is no record of Oil changes. when I bought the car I the dealer rapped me with my first oil change. since then I always did my own. I checked into it that they would still provide warranty, but I dont recall that I had to keep records of it. Any way I bought most of my oil and oil filters from Parts Source (very close to my house). so I went there and they were able to print up invoices. I have some Mobil1 still and I have a 5 gallon gas can full of oil in my garage. and I had the initial and maybe one other oil change at another dealer. So I offered to go down and discuss it with the dealer. The father was confident that the invoices from parts source maybe enough to prove I did oil changes.
so stay TUNED.....

another topic. - **** happens. My brother inlaw had a seizure in a restaurant. he is in hospital. they did a CT and found something. so more tests are being done. I could give you a complete run down of what they will do, but in the end if they have what they think it maybe it looks like surgery. I see him in the morning. going to be a long day.
good night.

yah the falkens say 7.5 is okay too.. but i'd be more comfortable with 8"... (no gay jokes)... but i just want substantially better then my current tires, but not as far as drag radials....(i keep watched that ralliartist launch from 7k on his slicks and i cringe each time )
and i was looking at the regular 555's from nitto.. they seem to get good reviews too

Bridgestone Pole position
Nitto NT-01
Falken 615
Avon A048's
- stock on lotus. $400 a tire and will last likely 10,000KMS. BF G's KD (not KDW)
Well I thought 7" would be wide enough for that. Time attack used 9" 8 to 9 is probably Ideal but JP's rims were mint and so was mine. we were going to trade. he hesitated too long I guess. it would have worked. I was going to run NITTO 555 DR. not just 555's but the DR 555, there is a difference.
good night.
good night.
what do you mean? that is what happened. you did not want to trade in the end as far as I knew. that was before you had road rash then for sure I did not want them and then I got road rash on one and we were both in the same predicament.
is that what you meant? Oh and you did not want to spend cash on tires since mine were basically toast.
but what does that all matter to the story any way?
No problem I probably edited it in when you were already responding to what was posted.
I think I just needed to vent any way. but thanks.

Well, you were right about the guy that bought his car doing some mods to it...
But the only mod that I can visually see are some mother ******* ugly ass rims, and a broke down motor!

On the up side, that likely means this guy has a "brand new" set of 18's sitting around. Ones that were just remachined only a month and a half ago? JP, this might be your chance to get some 18s!
