I like to joke about being a cheap Mennonite sometimes...
Although I joke, it's a good fall-back excuse for recognizing that I need to cut back, to stay in budget.
Having no education or certificates makes it very hard to get a good job. I've worked no less than 10 different entry level positions. Security, construction, retail, Flooring, etc.
After doing all of this I've learned than no good job exists with no education or training.
My current job I entered in the wash bay, now I'm in an apprentice parts program for three years.
The only advice I can offer is to take a job where you see definite opportunities to educate/train through the company, when I took the job I made sure to express my interest in moving up.
Either that or get an education

I am not knocking Winnipeg, I like it there, and for a spell I would have been happy to relocate there;
but getting a good job in Winnipeg is just plain tough.
My last room mate was working as a dock manager, or had dock manager experience in Winnipeg;
He saw a trucking company was looking for Dock managers, and applied;
Much to his surprise, he was asked to come to Calgary for an interview (he thought the job was for in Winnipeg);
He ended up moving here, with a substantial raise over Winnipeg rates, and after being here a spell realized the company was getting a smoking deal with him, and pushing him around...
He realized at that time why they were paying people to relocate from out of province - the company was being poached by competing companies, and people were being hired at much better rates...
If you live in an area were there are only so many opportunities, you're going to have that many more people fighting for the same job...
I moved away from Winnipeg, because at the end of the day I recognized, that my future was limited in Winnipeg.
If you've got a good job, and are happy where you are - stay put, a big check isn't what it's all about;
I have known many people who have been burnt after leaving a good job, that paid a decent rate for "greener pastures"...
But if anyone is considering moving here, if I can be of any assistance, just ask.
I completely understand what you guys are getting at - believe me.

I just put in my 14gph meth nozzle tonight and got retuned. Holy crap this thing rips. I'm running a very aggresive tune haha. Oh and just installed some 225/40-18 Yokohama S Drives. Best. Tire. Ever. Retarted traction in warm weather. I even had my tuner googling them on the ride home for his Camaro lol

Sexy Cobalt SS Turbo SAFETIED - Winnipeg Cars For Sale - Kijiji Winnipeg Canada.
There used to be one out around Anola (iirc that's about 30-40 minutes east of town) that we were talking about as being a smoking deal considering the mileage and all... but I don't know if it's still listed.
if you are fine with a supercharged car, those can be had for a pretty good deal if you're patient, and know exactly what you want...
Although I like both, I am slightly biased as to which I like more.
