Manitoba SS's 2012 thread
No offense Jordan, but your car would need work to get to that level.
here - this is the car that just sold;
2010 COBALT SS! FULL WARANTY! WINTER TIRES! - Edmonton Cars For Sale - Kijiji Edmonton Canada.
mint-mint-mint.

[QUOTE=soundjunky;6506357]good ole, Anola Manitoba!
I have an Aunt & Uncle who live out there...
that is an absolute smoking deal!!
I actually thought GM didn't offer leasing during the 2008 model year??!? ~ maybe that was done in '07 just before they canceled leasing??
I wonder if that guy got it certified used at the end of 09 and leased it?
Considering it still has a year left on the lease that would make sense to me

I had to to a triple take when I realized whom you were... after having known you for a bit...
I had your car as my desktop backround for some time around the time I had given up on buying a Cobalt.... those pics you hosted in your photobucket account...
Itll be like that one day lol
IIRC it was somehow tied into the bail out ~ so when they got in trouble, they killed the leasing program...
The financial hardship happened some time in the 2008 model year, and early in the 2009 model year the 'Performance Division' was (temporarily) dissolved...
then iirc they brought it back some time in the 2011 model year ~ and I believe that they even had commercials something like "leasing is back!" ~ that were used with he Cruze...
if his term has about a year left, that puts it at 2013;
2013 - 5 = 2008
that right there seems to make sense to me.
also the shorter the term, the higher the buyout...
the SS/TC was offered up and expected to arrive in dealers April/May 2008;
I believe the car was announced at SEMA in early 2008 (iirc SEMA is late January) - with the SS model being completely absent from brochures ect for the 2008 model year.
What Jordan recalls does seem to make sense;
granted I never really knew much about terms, but I do believe the standards were 3/5/7 year terms...
and if that's the case, this guy could have ordered the car, taken receipt, barely driven it in the four or so years he's had it.... and have aprox one year left in his original five year lease contract.
either way, IMHO, that is by far the best deal I've seen on an SS/TC since I started looking;
the car is virtually new, and at aprox 47% of the original MSRP...
If I had never bought my car - this would probably be the one I'd be buying...
I had resigned myself to not buying after the yellow paint option was dropped - because I did not want to pay full MSRP....
I was going to find an Arrival Blue SS/SC state-side, drive it for a year or two, and flip it to put towards an SS/TC.
late calender year does not equate late in the model year;

First of all he lives in the country, country vehicles have a tendency to put on WAY more KM's then a city car.
It doesnt add up....i think ether it was in a accident or i dunno...
Kelley Blue Book
according to KBB, this car is aprox $4k below our "sinking like a rock" values...
intense?
as sad as it might seem, trying to figure out stuff, is kinda something I like to waste my time on...
otherwise why would I make the broken down by year thread ect...
I wouldn't call this intense at all...
just light dinner conversation... without the dinner.
