Hey Brian, long time no talk, i need to get the damn rattling out of my car, we were talking about it in the fall back at lonestar...you got any suggestions other than ripping the whole metal plate out of the trunk?

Well....just that it rattles...and no i havent insulated it...i dont really want to spend the $$..id rather just rip the **** out thats rattling....

There are two ways you can stop the rattling:

1 - get insulation...I know you don't want to spend $$$ but you can buy some on Ebay for cheap

2 - you can try to get the rattling out with smashing and cutting but you will just make it worse, the rattling is your metal pieces vibrating together, license place is alos a factore, then you have the insulation around your speakers or even the screws that are holding you **** down, you have your spare wheel in the trunk which you need to take out and make that wounds proof...

Anyways either you spend a little $$ on insulation or you get your hands dirty and not stop the noise completly.

dont spend your money on expensive dynamat

go to your local home center (home depot) roofing dept
aluminum on 1 side and tar like on the other $19,99 12 inch wide roll, does a whole trunk

i did mine, + the rear deck, back seat & sides, with 2 rolls, stoped all my rattles

only rattle i have now is my top liner above my head, i will take it down and reinforce with fiberglass

later this summer, will do my floor and doors, try and kill road noise

i looked at that mapquest direction, its good but a real headacke

here are some very simple directions

from ottawa hwy 417 east follow to hwy 40 est to hwy 13 south to hwy 20 est take exit for (mercier bridge) south side of bridge at the fork stay on the left side follow 138 apprx 4 kilometers youll see

I agree it's a head ache...but hey for peeps that haven't ever been to MTL and WILL get lost cause they don't know the streets...it's the best way.

I have been there so many time I cannot remember...i just posted that for people that don't know how to get there
