very impressed with the shop, they had like 3 mustangs on lifts, a nice big shop.
i asked paul about a few things, he is awaiting the pro version of hp tuners and gave me a lil lesson about what alot of boost does to a FORGED ford racing pistion on pump gas....not good, he showed me the piston or what was left, i will run my current set up with a tune and if needed we will use my 60 pound injecters, 17 psi is enough for me on 94, he is all about power with reliability, which i can respect, also a new tuning program is coming out for us soon which blows hp tuners away as far as features, to upgrade to this, he is gonna offer a nice deal and you get to switch from 91-94 octane, you get a monitor the plugs into yer diagnostic port,so you dont need a labtop
clears trouble codes and tons more, cant rememeber everything now lol, all in all i cant wait for this tune and thought id share what i did on my day off.

ya its pretty cool, aftermarket is really starting to pick up, i just dont have all the money or time to blow if something does break, which is why i tend to annoy people with all my questions lol, i plan on keeping this car for a long time so i want to have a lil looks, a lil performance, and a lil breaking/handling, which will = a pretty cool 4 banger.

so what is this SOON you alk about. and what is the program called
I don't see how it's gonna blow HPT away as there are enough parameters to change to get the tune you want. I could see needing a better program (like Big Stuff) if we're making 500+HP but for our cars HPT is good enough. As for the scanner, I don't think anything compares to HPT's scanner and soon enough they will release Real Time Tuning ability for the Cobalt/RL.

as far as the new software blowing hpt away, maybe i went a bit over board cuz of my excitment, dont get me wrong, i cant wait to get it, but i will be upgrading to the new software when it becomes available, you can do more things with it, any questions pm miester, hes the man thats tunning my car.

Big Stuff is a complete computer replacement for the car, which has not been done yet.
the biggest problem with that, is that you will need to keep both computers in your car and have them interact with eachother to maintain all your functions and boost your performance. (tuning nightmare) not to mention that it would be completely unecessary and a waist of money changing your computer, when the one you got now is more then capable of handling anything you do to your car.

With Big Stuff you tell it what you want and it learns/adapts to it. As for my original point, HPT is great for our car, but if you want big power (turbo, twincharge) then it makes life a lot easier if you upgrade... and yes Big Stuff is a complete computer replacement.
remember I was getting my car dyno'd by them in December, and I've herd all about Big Stuff since then.
I know you've been talking alot about this with the Guy's at Tag, and they're right big stuff is great and easier to work with. but you are the one who has not done the proper research into the capabilities of our ECU. GM has built cars with more then 500HP, you don't need big stuff for tuning a twincharged car. Keith Losier from Desired Customs built one, and he was sponsored by Hann Racecraft and GM.
just some information for you because you seem to be confused.
Big Stuff and the Factory ECU interacting together and sharing information ( regardless of which computer is controlling the systems) is too computers interacting with each other.
but you know what, I think you should spend the money, and let them jerry rig you car with big Stuff and try to make it work.
I'm pretty sure you'll be without your car for much longer then you think or like.

dude, if yer getting a 2.8 pulley, 42.5 pound injectors are enough, if i were you id get the injectors that suit yer pulley size, in this case you want a 2.8 so the 45's fine, and since your stock and stage kits are not available yet for 07's tuning is indeed in yer future.

let me know when you actually get your hands on some tuning before you talk **** or talk about what others think or as you say "research". See this is what's wrong with engineers, all theory and no hands on.... and yes I'm an enigeer too so don't even think about defending that one. He's an engineering question for you, if our ECU's were built for 500HP then why do you have to compensate for the injector flow in the VE table (even after you change Flow Rate vs KPA) when running 60lb injectors or are they too much for our cars??

ermm dude if i want to go to 2.6 pulley then no need to buy 60s after and waste more money right
thats true i guess, theres a huge discussion about injecters and pulleys anyways, theres alot of mixed info, i have to get my car dynoed to see what the duty cycle is on my injecters at 7 grand, if there is not enough fuel, i have 60 pounders and the harness ready.
