YO!!! I know this isnt a problem thread but wondering if you guys could help out
Last week I got a CEL P0420 and the car idles a lil rough.
- I have been running the 3" XTC DP with cat for over 6 months and never got a CEL but I just recently installed my 3" hahn but even that didnt trigger a CEL.
- As well I was getting a tune and never had any CEL's.
- A friend said I might have got some bad gas but Im on my second tank of a diff gas and still getting the rough idle and Im guessing the same code, (no scan tool but thinking im going to buy on tmrw)
Any advice from those who have had this code?
Possible problems???
- bad O2 sensor
- cat clogging
- exhaust manifold leak/crack
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Basically this means that the oxygen sensor downstream (after) the catalytic converter on bank 1 is detecting that the converter is not working as efficiently as it should be (according to specs). It is part of the vehicle emissions system
A code P0420 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Leaded fuel was used where unleaded was called for
An oxygen sensor is not reading (functioning) properly
The engine coolant temperature sensor is not working properly
Damaged exhaust manifold / catalytic converter / exhaust pipe
Retarded spark timing
