Wake up call

Well, the C7 cruise was awesome and a great turn out. Thanks for everyone who came out and I'll have the pics and Matt's video's up.

Now regarding my drive back to Hamilton, I was doing 140 on Highway 10 which has a limit of 80kph. I got pulled over with a ticket that doesn't even have an amount cause I have to go to court first.....I just wanted to post here cause this was a wake up call for me as I've been driving seriously reckless ever since I started adding parts/tuning and I guess it got to my head. Hopefully this will stick to others who drive like I WAS.

distillion 10-15-2006 07:38 PM

im not even gonna comment on my wake up call, and i didnt even get a ticket....OCC members that joined me on the venture to kingston know exactly what im talkin about and im not gonan say anything about the speeds reached...good luck with your court date mase.

Shitty about the ticket, cant wait to see the pics!

SoloZ/SS 10-16-2006 12:20 AM

Sorry to hear about that but thems the brakes I guess, on are spirited(at some points) I was glad to be the last guy so I could just hang back with being pressured to go faster. Until near the end, I took a totally oppisite way home that took me down through Tottenham (spl) and then across to the 400.

I've been in Detroit for work.
man I miss my car.
stupid work gave me a Ford Torus to drive while I'm down here.
feels like I'm driving a boat.

John 10-16-2006 03:27 PM

good luck bro

i got my ticket coming up on 18th

191km in a 100

p7x 10-16-2006 03:35 PM

^^^^^I remember that.

I wouldn't say u were driving recklessly. Just because ur driving faster than you "should be" to me is not reckless. If you drive a car that can't handle the speed or dont know how to drive and put urself and others in much more risk than you should be, thats reckless.

Tons of ppl get speeding tickets its the battle of when and where you should speed. Good luck in court mase , you too john

campo165 10-16-2006 03:38 PM

i was doing 140 mph yesterday with a viper...luckily didnt get caught but i felt completely safe, this car handles so smooth.I wouldnt count it reckless at all...now as for that car i saw weaving in and out of traffic so hard that he was fishtailing...now THATS reckless.

John 10-17-2006 02:22 PM

yup i think ill need all the luck i can get

cause i dont even no if i got a lawyer yet

Permafried- 10-17-2006 03:18 PM

Shit good luck, hope it works out alrite in the long run. I've been really having to watch my foot on my trips to the GTA and back lately 'cause the closer I get to London the further down my foot goes. Coming back from Oakville on the 403 one night I looked down and it read about 155...I slowed down and just in time cause a couple bends in the road later (just before the 401 merge) there was an OPP sitting under the overpass hiding out in the pitch dark. I'm surprised even how well my LS holds at higher speeds...hell my Cavy woulda been rockin around like it was hydroplaning but I probably still shouldn't be goin' that fast.

distillion 10-17-2006 03:22 PM

these cars hold high speeds very well;)

It's true...you definitely don't feel like you're doing the speeds you are especially if the roads are in decent shape, which is a pro and con when your foot feels like lead. It sure makes the stretch between Brantford and Burlington a blast though...who needs to slow down for those curves anyways ;).

roccityroller 10-17-2006 04:33 PM

damn, i got nabbed on 403, just before the port huron bridge at 163 km/h and he wrote it down to 149 just so i wouldnt have to go to court

i guess anything 50 over or more you HAVE to go to court, good luck

Mase 10-17-2006 11:58 PM

well at least the cop said he'll take it easy on me in court if I have a clean record, which I do.
Let's set the fuel cut off to 120kph with the new mods.

Good luck brother...I hate to hear about shit like this. In my 19 years of driving, I have never experienced so many pigs on our roads and highways like I have in the past 12 months...it is really sickening :guns: :cussing:

distillion 10-18-2006 11:10 PM

john, wat was the outcome for you?
