I'm slowly knocking my times down bit by bit. Considering the elevation, I think I'm doing ok. My launches still need work, but with practice, they'll improve a bit more.
With a few tweaks, I hope shave off another tenth or two by the end of the year.
very nice.
whats your mods again bro?
leafy and I hit Castrol lastnight too
i ran a slightly dissapointing 15.3 on my 5th run ever. was hoping to break 14s but i guess my launch still needs work :/ 2.3 60fts, and it was storming like a bitch so i dont know how the humidity was etc
oh and at the end of the night i realised i had all my trunk junk + leafys because we were gonna share his helmet so i took all his weight in my trunk and we were gonna switch when it was my turn lol.
so i think i was carrying at least 0.1sec or 0.2 sec of extra weight :P
ahh well.
fun night. HELL of a lightning storm.

well ive tried both of the basic launch methods now.
at first i tried the 3-4k rpm clutch feather peelout method. 2.4 and 2.5 sec 60fts
lastnight i tried the lower tirepressure with a 1.8k-2k rpm clutch drop.
2.3sec 60fts on the 2 runs i did.
i felt more in control and quicker with the second method for sure.
but i felt like i bogged a little bit to much. and both launches my tires didnt even squeek so i think i can push it higher.
next time im going to try 2.5-3k rpm with no peddling of the clutch and let the tires squeel a little.

ok ....
every 100 pounds of weight is good for almost 1/10th of a second. So unless you had an extra 200 lbs worth of stuff in your trunk, there is no way you were .1-.2 seconds off from what you should be running. Just thought Id let ya know that.
Umm yeah, with the stock clutch, i wouldnt suggest dumping it at all on your launches either.
The best 60 foots you will ever get is when you slip off of the clutch at low rpms and slowly lay into the gas trying not to break traction. You wanna hear a quick squeel off the line but nothing more.
Plus a 2.3 60 footer is very average on stock pirellis, so I wouldnt be complaining about that. But with more practice doing what I just mentioned, you will knock that down to consistant 2.2s on stock tires.
As for Ed. Great times man, very impressed with the ion last night. Sure whined pretty good. I taught you well haha
I was a little dissapointed with bobby's stage 2 ss, i thought he shoulda done better than a 14.8, but oh well, it takes practice.
And has for me, well turns out my tensioner is toast and I am having some pretty gay belt slippage. Oh well. Ill have it fixed for mission raceway

id be very surprised if i didnt have 200lbs in my trunk....i had my sons car seat. a huge vehicle emergency pack that my work gives us (this thing is a good 50lbs at least)
some jackstands that i bought earlier, and a 2hp air compressor still in its box from canadian tire that i bought.
thats not including the weight i took from leafys car lol.
i was just so stoked that i found a helmet and i might get a run in before the huge storm broke i just raced to line up because it was literally storming all around the racetrack.
and yeah i know the 2.3s arent to bad. but ive only had 5 total runs at a track ever...so i guess i will improve in time.

Yeah...
once you get alot more practice... you will pull consistant 2.2 60 footers.
