Sure so you see my first run - EVER!!! geez I feel royally embarrased :P

Times for my first time ever racing tonight:

16.0 - lost to a sup'd 1500 RAM
15.9 - lost to a Corvette
16.6 - lost to a Subaru WRX
16.2 - lost to a Muscle car
16.1 - Beat a Nicely done up Yello Pick up ^_^ - Not a bad way to finish out the night.

Need to learn how to launch better, my shifts are ok but the launch is poor.

hey james, not to put u down or anything, but most guys with stock ss/sc in calgary have ran 14.9-15.3 at race city.

I wasnt there to see your runs, but im willing to bet that the reason ur times are so high are all in your launch like u said.... im willing to bet that ur spinning WAY too much. Ask other guys and they will agree, dont dump the clutch as you leave the line and "launch it" , instead try to feather the clutch and gas at the same time trying to accelerate as fast as u can without breaking traction... i was able to cut low 2.2 60 foot times by leaviing the line at 1500ish rpm and slightly slipping the clutch and then slowly laying into WOT as traction allowed.

Anyways, practice makes perfect bud, so keep it up and ull see improvements!!!

Best way to get rid of wheel hop is through a few suspension mods. The drag bags, BWoody front engine mount and wider tires did a good job of eliminating a lot (not all) of my wheel hop. A shift light and a more solid shifter can help with shifting. Personally, I'd recommend the B&M shifter.

And last but not least, practice, practice, practice...
